but he denied it and refused [the faith].
ފަހެ، އޭނާ ދޮގުކުރިއެވެ. އަދި އުރެދުނެވެ.

except iblis. he refused to bow with the adorers.
إبليس މެނުވީއެވެ. سجدة ކުރި ملائكة ންނާ އެކުގައިވުމަށް إبليس ނުރުހި، އެކަމުން މަނާވެގެންފިއެވެ.

but iblis did not; he refused to be with the prostrates.
إبليس މެނުވީއެވެ. سجدة ކުރި ملائكة ންނާ އެކުގައިވުމަށް إبليس ނުރުހި، އެކަމުން މަނާވެގެންފިއެވެ.

except iblis who refused to join with the others in prostration.
إبليس މެނުވީއެވެ. سجدة ކުރި ملائكة ންނާ އެކުގައިވުމަށް إبليس ނުރުހި، އެކަމުން މަނާވެގެންފިއެވެ.

but not iblis: he refused to be among those who prostrated.
إبليس މެނުވީއެވެ. سجدة ކުރި ملائكة ންނާ އެކުގައިވުމަށް إبليس ނުރުހި، އެކަމުން މަނާވެގެންފިއެވެ.

but satan did not; he refused to join those who prostrated themselves.
إبليس މެނުވީއެވެ. سجدة ކުރި ملائكة ންނާ އެކުގައިވުމަށް إبليس ނުރުހި، އެކަމުން މަނާވެގެންފިއެވެ.

and we verily did show him all our tokens, but he denied them and refused.
ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ އޭނާޔަށް ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ ހުރިހާ آية ތަކެއް ދެއްކެވީމެވެ. ފަހެ، އޭނާ އެ آية ތައް ދޮގުކޮށް (إيمان ނުވެ) އެކަމުން މަނާވެގަތެވެ.

we showed pharaoh all our signs but he rejected them and refused to believe in them.
ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ އޭނާޔަށް ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ ހުރިހާ آية ތަކެއް ދެއްކެވީމެވެ. ފަހެ، އޭނާ އެ آية ތައް ދޮގުކޮށް (إيمان ނުވެ) އެކަމުން މަނާވެގަތެވެ.

and assuredly we shewed him our signs, all of them, but he belied and refused.
ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ އޭނާޔަށް ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ ހުރިހާ آية ތަކެއް ދެއްކެވީމެވެ. ފަހެ، އޭނާ އެ آية ތައް ދޮގުކޮށް (إيمان ނުވެ) އެކަމުން މަނާވެގަތެވެ.

except iblis (satan), - he refused to be among the prostrators.
إبليس މެނުވީއެވެ. سجدة ކުރި ملائكة ންނާ އެކުގައިވުމަށް إبليس ނުރުހި، އެކަމުން މަނާވެގެންފިއެވެ.

but when he gave them from his bounty, they were stingy with it and turned away while they refused.
ފަހެ، އެކަލާނގެ فضل ވަންތަކަމުގެ ތެރެއިން، އެއުރެންނަށް ދެއްވިހިނދު، އެތަކެއްޗަށް އެއުރެން ދަހިވެތިވޫއެވެ. އަދި އެއުރެން ފުރަގަސްދޭ حال، އެނބުރި ދިޔައޫއެވެ.

and we certainly showed pharaoh our signs - all of them - but he denied and refused.
ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ އޭނާޔަށް ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ ހުރިހާ آية ތަކެއް ދެއްކެވީމެވެ. ފަހެ، އޭނާ އެ آية ތައް ދޮގުކޮށް (إيمان ނުވެ) އެކަމުން މަނާވެގަތެވެ.

except iblis (father of the jinn) who refused to be one of those who prostrated themselves.
إبليس މެނުވީއެވެ. سجدة ކުރި ملائكة ންނާ އެކުގައިވުމަށް إبليس ނުރުހި، އެކަމުން މަނާވެގެންފިއެވެ.

other people before you enquired about such things, but when they were disclosed to them, they refused to carry them out.
ތިޔަބައިމީހުންގެ ކުރިން އުޅުނު ބަޔަކުވެސް، ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، އެފަދަ سؤال ކުރިއެވެ. ދެން (އެކަންކަމުގެ حكم ބަޔާންކުރެއްވި ހިނދު) އެކަންކަމަށް كافر ވި ބަޔަކު ކަމުގައި އެއުރެންވިއެވެ.

this was so because their apostles came with clear proofs to them, but they refused to believe. so they were seized by god.
އެއީ އެއުރެންގެ ގާތަށް، އެއުރެންގެ رسول ން ފާޅުވެގެންވާ ހެކިތަކާއިގެން ވަޑައިގަތުމުން، އެއުރެން އެބޭކަލުންނަށް كافر ވީތީއެވެ. ދެން اللَّه އެއުރެން ހަލާކުކުރެއްވިއެވެ. ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، އެކަލާނގެއީ، ގަދަފަދަވަންތަ، عقوبات ގަދަފަދަވެގެންވާ ރަސްކަލާނގެއެވެ.

we will turn away their hearts and eyes since they refused to believe in it at first. we will leave them in their insolence wandering blindly.
ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ އެއުރެންގެ ހިތްތަކާއި، ލޯތައް (حق ގެ މަގުން) އެއްކިބާކުރައްވަމެވެ. އެއުރެން އެ آية ތަކަށް ފުރަތަމަ ފަހަރުވެސް، إيمان ނުވި ފަދައިން (إيمان އެއް ނުވާނެތެވެ.) އަދި ދެފުށުއެޅި ތިބޭ حال އެއްގައި، އެއުރެންގެ ފުރެދުމުގެ ތެރެޔަށް، ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ އެއުރެން ދޫކޮށްލައްވާހުށީމެވެ.

and assuredly we have variously propounded for mankind in this qur'an every kind of similitude, yet most men have refused everything except infidelity.
ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، މި قرآن ގައި ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ މީސްތަކުންނަށް ހުރިހާ ބާވަތަކުން مثال ބަޔާންކުރެއްވީމެވެ. ދެންވެސް މީސްތަކުންކުރެ ގިނަމީހުން، ދެކޮޅުވެރިވެ، كافر ވުން މެނުވީ قبول އެއް ނުކުރޫއެވެ.

and recall what time we said to the angels: prostrate yourselves before adam. they fell prostrate, but iblis did not; he refused.
آدم ގެފާނަށް ތިޔަބައިމީހުން سجدة ކުރާށޭ ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ ملائكة ންނަށް وحى ކުރެއްވިހިނދު، ހަނދުމަކުރާށެވެ! ފަހެ، إبليس ފިޔަވައި އެ ملائكة ން سجدة ކުރެއްވޫއެވެ. އެކަލޭގެ އެކަމުން މަނާވެގަތެވެ.

and indeed we showed him [fir'aun (pharaoh)] all our signs and evidences, but he denied and refused.
ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ އޭނާޔަށް ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ ހުރިހާ آية ތަކެއް ދެއްކެވީމެވެ. ފަހެ، އޭނާ އެ آية ތައް ދޮގުކޮށް (إيمان ނުވެ) އެކަމުން މަނާވެގަތެވެ.

and when we commanded the angels, “prostrate before adam” – so they all prostrated, except iblis; he refused.
آدم ގެފާނަށް ތިޔަބައިމީހުން سجدة ކުރާށޭ ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ ملائكة ންނަށް وحى ކުރެއްވިހިނދު، ހަނދުމަކުރާށެވެ! ފަހެ، إبليس ފިޔަވައި އެ ملائكة ން سجدة ކުރެއްވޫއެވެ. އެކަލޭގެ އެކަމުން މަނާވެގަތެވެ.
