آپ کو اس قسم کی باتیں بچوں کے سامنے نہیں کرنی چائیے۔

मैं बस इतना ही चाहता हूं कि आप और मैं हमेशा

he said, “this is the parting between you and me. i will tell you the interpretation of what you were unable to endure.
(خضرعلیہ السلام نے) کہا: یہ میرے اور آپ کے درمیان جدائی (کا وقت) ہے، اب میں آپ کو ان باتوں کی حقیقت سے آگاہ کئے دیتا ہوں جن پر آپ صبر نہیں کر سکے،

say, “god is enough witness between you and me. he is fully aware of his servants, and he sees them well.”
(اے رسول(ص)!) کہہ دیئے! کہ میرے اور تمہارے درمیان گواہی کیلئے اللہ ہی کافی ہے۔ بے شک وہ اپنے بندوں کو خوب جانتا ہے۔ (اور) خوب دیکھتا ہے۔

he said, “this is the parting between you and me; i shall now tell you the interpretation of the matters you could not patiently bear.”
(خضرعلیہ السلام نے) کہا: یہ میرے اور آپ کے درمیان جدائی (کا وقت) ہے، اب میں آپ کو ان باتوں کی حقیقت سے آگاہ کئے دیتا ہوں جن پر آپ صبر نہیں کر سکے،

do they not see the earth, and what beneficial kinds of things we have caused to grow in it?
اور کیا انہوں نے زمین کی طرف نگاہ نہیں کی کہ ہم نے اس میں کتنی ہی نفیس چیزیں اگائی ہیں،

observe what kind of things they attribute to you. they have surely gone astray and cannot find the right way again.
(اے حبیبِ مکرّم!) ملاحظہ فرمائیے یہ لوگ آپ کے لئے کیسی (کیسی) مثالیں بیان کرتے ہیں پس یہ گمراہ ہو چکے ہیں سو یہ (ہدایت کا) کوئی راستہ نہیں پا سکتے،

children of israel! remember my favour wherewith favoured you, and fulfil my covenant, and shall fulfil your covenant, and me alone shall ye dread.
اے اولادِ یعقوب! میرے وہ انعام یاد کرو جو میں نے تم پر کئے اور تم میرے (ساتھ کیا ہوا) وعدہ پورا کرو میں تمہارے (ساتھ کیا ہوا) وعدہ پورا کروں گا، اور مجھ ہی سے ڈرا کرو،

and the earth we spread out, and placed therein firm mountains, and caused to grow therein all kinds of things in due proportion.
اور زمین کو بھی ہم ہی نے پھیلایا اور اس پر پہاڑ (بنا کر) رکھ دیئے اور اس میں ہر ایک سنجیدہ چیز اُگائی

and the earth we have spread out (like a carpet); set thereon mountains firm and immovable; and produced therein all kinds of things in due balance.
اور زمین کو بھی ہم ہی نے پھیلایا اور اس پر پہاڑ (بنا کر) رکھ دیئے اور اس میں ہر ایک سنجیدہ چیز اُگائی

(moses) said: "this is (agreed) between you and me. whichever term i fulfil, no injustice will be done to me. god is witness to our agreement."
موسٰی نے کہا کہ مجھ میں اور آپ میں یہ (عہد پختہ ہوا) میں جونسی مدت (چاہوں) پوری کردوں پھر مجھ پر کوئی زیادتی نہ ہو۔ اور ہم جو معاہدہ کرتے ہیں خدا اس کا گواہ ہے
