Чӣ басо мардуми деҳаеро ҳалок сохтем, ки аз зиндагии худ дучори сармастӣ шуда буданд ва ин хонаҳои онҳост, ки баъд аз онҳо андак замоне кас дар онҳо сукно (маскан) гирифт ва Мо вориси онҳо будем.

Ва Сулаймон вориси Довуд шуд ва гуфт: «Эй мардум, ба мо забони мурғон омӯхтанд ва аз ҳар неъмате ато карданд.

or did not those who inherited the land after its owners, get enough guidance that if we will, we can afflict them with calamity for their sins? and we set seals upon their hearts so they do not hear.
Оё барои онон, ки заминро аз пешиниён ба ирс бурдаанд, равшан нашудааст, ки агар бихоҳем, онҳоро низ ба ҷазои гуноҳонашон ба уқубат мерасонем ва бар дилҳояшон мӯҳр мениҳем, то шунидаи натавонанд?

he said: my lord! do thou forgive me and grant me a kingdom which is not fit for (being inherited by) anyone after me;
Гуфт: «Эй Парвардигори ман, маро бибахш ва маро мулке ато кун, ки пас аз ман касе сазовори он набошад, ки ту бахшояндаӣ».

and there followed them successors who inherited the scripture [while] taking the commodities of this lower life and saying, "it will be forgiven for us."
Баъд аз инҳо гурӯҳе ба ҷояшон нишастанд ва вориси он китоб шуданд, ки ба матоъи дунявӣ дил бастанд ва гуфтанд, ки ба зудӣ омурзида мешавем.

after them succeeded an (evil) generation: they inherited the book, but they chose (for themselves) the vanities of this world, saying (for excuse): "(everything) will be forgiven us."
Баъд аз инҳо гурӯҳе ба ҷояшон нишастанд ва вориси он китоб шуданд, ки ба матоъи дунявӣ дил бастанд ва гуфтанд, ки ба зудӣ омурзида мешавем.
