when he said to his father and his people: what do you worship?
அவர் தம் தந்தையையும், தம் சமூகத்தவரையும் நோக்கி "நீங்கள் எதை வணங்குகிறீர்கள்?" என்று கேட்டபோது,

and [by] the father and that which was born [of him],
பெற்றோர் மீதும், (பெற்ற) சந்ததியின் மீதும் சத்தியமாக,

he said to his father and to his nation: 'what do you worship'
அவர் தம் தந்தையையும், தம் சமூகத்தவரையும் நோக்கி "நீங்கள் எதை வணங்குகிறீர்கள்?" என்று கேட்டபோது,

behold, he said to his father and his people: "what worship ye?"
அவர் தம் தந்தையையும், தம் சமூகத்தவரையும் நோக்கி "நீங்கள் எதை வணங்குகிறீர்கள்?" என்று கேட்டபோது,

and when he said to his father and to his nation: 'what do you worship?
அவர் தம் தந்தையையும், தம் சமூகத்தாரையும் நோக்கி "நீங்கள் எதனை வணங்குகிறீர்கள்? எனக் கேட்ட போது,

u are my father and i will miss all that u taught me n all the memories that we have i will keep in my heart
நீங்கள் என் தந்தை மற்றும் நான் என் இதயத்தில் வைத்திருக்கும் அனைத்து நினைவுகளையும் நீங்கள் எனக்குக் கற்பித்த அனைத்தையும் நான் இழக்கிறேன்.

[and] when he said to his father and his people, "what do you worship?
அவர் தம் தந்தையையும், தம் சமூகத்தாரையும் நோக்கி "நீங்கள் எதனை வணங்குகிறீர்கள்? எனக் கேட்ட போது,

and recall what time ibrahim said unto his father and his people: verily i am quit of that which ye worship.
அன்றியும், இப்றாஹீம் தம் தந்தையையும், தம் சமூகத்தவர்களையும் நோக்கி; "நிச்சயமாக நான், நீங்கள் வழிபடுபவற்றை விட்டும் விலகிக் கொண்டேன்" என்று கூறியதையும்;

and when ibrahim said to his father and his people, “i have no relation whatsoever with your deities.”
அன்றியும், இப்றாஹீம் தம் தந்தையையும், தம் சமூகத்தவர்களையும் நோக்கி; "நிச்சயமாக நான், நீங்கள் வழிபடுபவற்றை விட்டும் விலகிக் கொண்டேன்" என்று கூறியதையும்;

"behold!" he said to his father and to his people, "what are these that you worship?
அவர் தம் தந்தையையும், தம் சமூகத்தாரையும் நோக்கி "நீங்கள் எதனை வணங்குகிறீர்கள்? எனக் கேட்ட போது,

when he said to his father and his people, “what are these idols before whom you squat (worshipping)?”
அவர் தம் தந்தையிடமும், தம் சமூகத்தாரிடமும் "நீங்கள் வழிபடும் இந்த உருவங்கள் என்ன?" என்று கேட்ட போது

(remember) when abraham, said to his father and his nation: 'i am quit from what you worship,
அன்றியும், இப்றாஹீம் தம் தந்தையையும், தம் சமூகத்தவர்களையும் நோக்கி; "நிச்சயமாக நான், நீங்கள் வழிபடுபவற்றை விட்டும் விலகிக் கொண்டேன்" என்று கூறியதையும்;

"go to our father and tell him, 'father, your son committed theft. we say only what we have seen and we have no control over the unseen.
ஆகவே, "நீங்கள் உங்கள் தந்தையாரிடம் திரும்பிச் சென்று, 'எங்களுடைய தந்தையே! உங்கள் மகன் நிச்சயமாக திருடியிருக்கிறான்; நாங்கள் உறுதியாக அறிந்ததைத் தவிர (வேறெதையும்) கூறவில்லை மேலும், நாங்கள் மறைவானவற்றின் காவலர்களாகவும் இருக்கவில்லை என்று கூறுங்கள்.;

they said: "we shall try to get permission (for him) from his father, and verily, we shall do it."
"அவரது தந்தையிடத்தில் அவர் விஷயமாக நாம் ஓர் உபாயத்தை மேற்கொள்வோம். மேலும் நிச்சயமாக நாம் அதை செய்பவர்கள்தான்" என்று கூறினார்கள்.
