l’uomo è creato, infatti, “ad immagine e somiglianza di dio” (gn 1,26), e in gesù di nazareth dio stesso si è fatto uomo: et verbum caro factum est.
indeed, man is created "in god's likeness" (gn 1,26) and in jesus of nazareth god himself became flesh: et verbum caro factum est.

quando uno va in terra santa, in quel paesino lì, ed entra in quella casupola semioscura in cui c’è un’iscrizione con impressa la frase: verbum hic caro factum est (il mistero di dio, qui, si è fatto carne), gli vengono i brividi.
when one goes to the holy land, to that little town, and enters the shadowy hut where there is an inscription on the wall that reads verbum hic caro factum est (the mystery of god, here, was made flesh), he is overcome by shivers.

a nazaret ci ricordiamo del mistero di maria e della sua docilità nell’accogliere la volontà di dio. pensate che lei non abbia avuto dubbi, paura ? sicuramente ha avuto tanta paura, ma ha confidato in dio ed é diventata la madre „et verbum caro factus est”. anche noi dobbiamo avere fiducia fino alla fine, non pensare solo a noi stessi, ma anche agli altri.
in nazareth we focus on the mystery of mary and her agreeing to god’s will. do you think she had no doubts and was not afraid? she must have been much afraid but she put her trust in god and became mother”et verbum caro factum est.” we should also trust to the end and think not only about ourselves but about others as well.
