Եւ երբ գտան նրան, ասացին. «Ամէնքը փնտռում են քեզ»:
and when they had found him, they said unto him, all men seek for thee.

Ես իմ փառքը չեմ փնտռում. կայ մէկը, որ այն փնտռում է եւ դատում:
and i seek not mine own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth.

Իսկ քահանայապետներն ու ամբողջ ատեանը Յիսուսի մասին սուտ վկայութիւն էին փնտռում, որպէսզի նրան սպանեն,
now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against jesus, to put him to death;

Իսկ հրեաները նրան փնտռում էին այդ տօնի ժամանակ եւ ասում էին՝ ո՞ւր է նա:
then the jews sought him at the feast, and said, where is he?

Եւ նա յանձն առաւ ու պատեհ առիթ էր փնտռում՝ նրան մատնելու նրանց՝ ամբոխից մեկուսի:
and he promised, and sought opportunity to betray him unto them in the absence of the multitude.

Եւ նա ամէն օր նրանց ուսուցանում էր տաճարում, իսկ քահանայապետները, օրէնսգէտները եւ ժողովրդի գլխաւորները հնար էին փնտռում նրան կորստեան մատնելու,
and he taught daily in the temple. but the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him,

Դարձեալ նրանց հարցրեց՝ ո՞ւմ էք փնտռում: Նրանք ասացին՝ Յիսուս Նազովրեցուն:
then asked he them again, whom seek ye? and they said, jesus of nazareth.

Երբ նրանք լսեցին, ուրախացան եւ խոստացան նրան դրամ տալ. եւ նա առիթ էր փնտռում, թէ ինչպէս յարմար ժամանակ մատնի նրան:
and when they heard it, they were glad, and promised to give him money. and he sought how he might conveniently betray him.

Իսկ Յիսուս իր վրայ եկող այս ամէնը տեսնելով՝ դուրս ելաւ ու նրանց ասաց. «Ո՞ւմ էք փնտռում»:
jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, whom seek ye?

Նա պատասխանեց. «Իմ եղբայրներին եմ փնտռում: Ասա՛ ինձ, որտե՞ղ են նրանք ոչխարներ արածեցնում»:
and he said, i seek my brethren: tell me, i pray thee, where they feed their flocks.

Եւ երբ կանայք զարհուրեցին ու իրենց երեսը գետին խոնարհեցրին, մարդիկ ասացին. «Ինչո՞ւ ողջին մեռելների մէջ էք փնտռում:
and as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, why seek ye the living among the dead?

Քահանայապետներն ու օրէնսգէտները լսեցին այս եւ մի միջոց էին փնտռում, թէ ինչպէս կորստեան մատնեն նրան, բայց վախենում էին նրանից, որովհետեւ ամբողջ ժողովուրդը զարմացած էր նրա ուսուցման վրայ:
and the scribes and chief priests heard it, and sought how they might destroy him: for they feared him, because all the people was astonished at his doctrine.

Եւ նրանք միջոց էին փնտռում՝ նրան ձերբակալելու, բայց ժողովրդից վախեցան, որովհետեւ հասկացան, թէ նա առակը իրենց մասին ասաց: Եւ թողեցին նրան ու գնացին:
and they sought to lay hold on him, but feared the people: for they knew that he had spoken the parable against them: and they left him, and went their way.

Յիսուս նրանց պատասխանեց. «Ձեզ ասացի, թէ՝ ես եմ. արդ, եթէ ինձ էք փնտռում, նրանց թո՛յլ տուէք գնալ».
jesus answered, i have told you that i am he: if therefore ye seek me, let these go their way:

«Երբ պիղծ դեւը ելնում է մարդուց, շրջում է անջրդի տեղերում, հանգիստ է փնտռում. եւ երբ չի գտնում, ասում է՝ «Վերադառնամ իմ տունը, որտեղից ելայ»:
when the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, i will return unto my house whence i came out.
