après s’être inscrit à la faculté d’architecture, il participe très jeune à l’évolution difficile de l’art abstrait italien de l’après-guerre, et déjà en 1946 il fait partie du groupe art social avec perilli, guerrini, vespignani, buratti, muccini, jusqu’à la rédaction, en 1947, du manifeste et des expositions "forma 1" réalisées avec consagra, turcato, accardi et sanfilippo. sa curiosité et sa passion artistiques et politiques sont tout aussi précoces: il les cultive avec cohérence pendant toute son activité avec de longs séjours d’étude et de travail, ajoutés à sa présence lors d’expositions et d’autres manifestations.
