this is because the disbelievers followed falsehood and the believers followed the truth which is from their lord; this is how allah illustrates the examples of people to them.

allah illustrates an example – “a man having several wicked masters as partners, and another man belonging wholly to just one master; are the two equal in comparison?” all praise is to allah; in fact, most among them do not know.
(اے پیغمبر(ص)) بے شک آپ نے بھی مرنا ہے اور وہ لوگ بھی مرنے والے ہیں۔
