certainly we tried solomon, and cast a [lifeless] body on his throne. thereupon he was penitent.

we tried solomon by placing upon his throne a [lifeless] body; and thereupon he turned towards us].

thou plungest night into day and thou plungest day into night, and thou bringest forth the living from the lifeless, and thou bringest forth the lifeless from the living; and thou providest for whomsoever thou wilt without reckoning.
พระองค์ทรงให้กลางคืนเข้าไปในกลางวัน และทรงให้กลางวันเข้าไปในกลางคืน และทรงให้สิ่งที่มีชีวิต ออกจากสิ่งที่ไม่มีชีวิต และทรงให้สิ่งที่ไม่มีชีวิตออกจากสิ่งที่มีชีวิต และทรงให้ปัจจัยยังชีพแก่ผู้ที่พะองค์ทรงประสงค์โดยปราศจากการคำนวณ

can he who was lifeless, to whom we gave life, and gave him a light in whose glow he walks among men, be like him who is used to darkness from which he can never emerge? thus have been their doings made attractive to unbelievers.
และผู้ที่ตายแล้ว แล้วเราได้ให้เขามีชีวิตขึ้น และเราได้ให้แสงสว่าง แก่เขา ซึ่งเขาใช้แสงสว่างนั้นเดินไปในหมู่มนุษย์นั้น จะเหมือนกับผู้ที่อุปมาของเขาซึ่งอยู่ในบรรดาความมืดโดยที่มิใช่เป็นผู้ที่จะออกมาจากบรรดาความมืดเหล่านั้นได้กระนั้นหรือ ? ในทำนองนั้นแหละได้ถูกประดับให้สวยงาม แก่ผู้ปฏิเสธศรัทธาทั้งหลาย ซึ่งสิ่งที่พวกเขากระทำกันอยู่

among his signs is this: he shows you the lightning, giving rise to [both] fear and hope, and sends down water from the sky, giving life thereby to the earth after it had been lifeless: in this, behold, there are signs indeed for people who use their reason!
และหนึ่งจากสัญญาณทั้งหลายของพระองค์คือ ทรงให้พวกเจ้าเห็นสายฟ้าแลบเป็นที่หวาดกลัว และเป็นความหวัง และทรงหลั่งน้ำลงมาจากฟากฟ้า และทรงให้แผ่นดินมีชีวิตชีวาด้วยมัน (น้ำฝน) หลังจากการแห้งแล้งของมัน แท้จริงในการนั้น ย่อมเป็นสัญญาณแก่หมู่ชนผู้ใช้สติปัญญา
