what aileth you that ye expect not in allah majesty!
maxaad leedihiin ood weynida eebe uga cabsoon weydeen.

what aileth them, therefore, that they are from the admonition turning away?
maxaase u sugnaaday iy waanada uga jeedsadaan.

allah said: o iblis! what aileth thou that thou art not with the prostrates?
wuxuuna yidhi (eebe) ibliisow maxaad leedahay oodan u noqonin kuwa sujuuda.

and what aileth me that i should not worship him who hath created me, and unto whom ye shall be returned.
maxaana u caabudaynin eebihii i abuuray xagiisana laydiin celin.

and he sought after the birds and said: what aileth me that i see not the hoopoe; is he among the absentees?
wuxuu fiirfiiriyey shimbiribii (sulaymaan) wuxuuna yidhi maxaan la arki la'ahay hud-hudkii mise kuwa maqan buu ka midyahay.

and what aileth us that we should not believe in allah and that which hath come unto us of the truth; and we long that our lord will enter us with the righteous people.
maxaanaan u rumeynaynin eebe iyo waxa noo yimid oo xaq ah oonaan u damcaynin inuu na galiyo (naga yeelo) ilaahanno qoomka suuban la jirkooda.

and what aileth you that ye believe not in allah whereas the apostle is calling you to believe in your lord, and he hath already taken your bond, if ye are going to be believers?
maxaad leedihiin ood la rumayn waydeen eebe, isagoo rasuulkuna idiinku yeedhi inaad rumaysaan eebihiin, isagoo eeba ballan idinka qaaday haddaad mu'miniin tihiin.

and the book shall be placed, and thou wilt see the culprits alarmed at that which is therein, and they will say: ah! woe unto us! what aileth this book that it leaveth not any sin small or great but it hath computed it! and they shall find all that they had wrought present; and thy lord wrongeth not any one.
