god turns about the day and the night; surely in that is a lesson for those who have eyes.
allah yanã jũyar da dare da yini. lalle ne a cikin wannan akwai abin kula ga ma'abũta gannai.

we made them become of the people of the past and an example for the coming generations.
sai muka sanya su magabãta kuma abin misãli ga mutãnen ƙarshe.

such was the law of god in the past; and you shall find no change in the law of god.
hanyar allah wadda ta shũɗe daga gabãnin wannan, kuma bã zã ka sãmi musanya ba ga hanyar allah (ta taimakon mũminai akan mai zãluntarsu).

but they will never wish for death because of what they had done in the past, and god knows the sinners well.
kuma bã zã su yi gũrinta ba har abadã sabõda abin da hannãyen su suka gabãtar. kuma allah ne masani ga azzãlumai

all matters of the past and future are in the hands of god. the believers will enjoy the help of god on that day.

and so we narrate to you the stories of the past, and we have given you a remembrance from us.
kamar wancan ne muke lãbartãwa a gare ka, daga lãbãran abin da ya gabãta, alhãli kuwa haƙĩƙa, mun bã ka zikiri (alƙur'ãni) daga gunmu.

and they will never long for it, because of the evil deeds they have done in the past; and allah knows the unjust, very well.
kuma bã zã su yi gũrinta bahar abada sabõda abin da hannayensu, suka gabãtar. kuma allah masani ne ga azzãlumai.

and the moon! for it we have decreed mansions till it reverteth like the old branch of a palm-tree.
kuma da watã mun ƙaddara masa manzilõli, har ya kõma kamar tsumagiyar murlin dabĩno wadda ta tsũfa.

he created the heavens and the earth in truth, wrapping night about the day, and wrapping the day about the night; and he has subjected the sun and the moon, each of them running to a stated term.
ya halitta sammai da ƙasã da gaskiya. yanã shigar da dare a kan rãna, kuma yanã shigar da rãnã a kan dare kuma yã hõre rãnã da watã, kõwannensu yanã gudãna zuwa ga ajali ambatacce.

and the moon, we have measured for it mansions (to traverse) till it returns like the old dried curved date stalk.
kuma da watã mun ƙaddara masa manzilõli, har ya kõma kamar tsumagiyar murlin dabĩno wadda ta tsũfa.

and the moon - we have determined for it phases, until it returns [appearing] like the old date stalk.
kuma da watã mun ƙaddara masa manzilõli, har ya kõma kamar tsumagiyar murlin dabĩno wadda ta tsũfa.

(o muhammad), thus do we recount to you the events of the past, and we have bestowed upon you from ourself an admonition.
