32. at the suggestion of unesco, the theme, “youth in the city” was adopted as the keynote theme of the nineteenth general assembly of the international association of mayors and others responsible for partially or entirely french-speaking capital cities or metropolises (aimf) (quebec city, canada, 1-3 september 1999) and was included on the agenda of the eighth summit of heads of state and government of countries that use french as a common language (moncton, new brunswick, canada, 3-5 september 1999), which unesco attended.
