ויעל משם באר שבע׃
and he went up from thence to beer-sheba.

ויעל דוד כדבר גד כאשר צוה יהוה׃
and david, according to the saying of gad, went up as the lord commanded.

ויעש את הפרכת תכלת וארגמן וכרמיל ובוץ ויעל עליו כרובים׃
and he made the vail of blue, and purple, and crimson, and fine linen, and wrought cherubims thereon.

ויבן נח מזבח ליהוה ויקח מכל הבהמה הטהורה ומכל העוף הטהר ויעל עלת במזבח׃
and noah builded an altar unto the lord; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

ויעל יואש מלך ישראל ויתראו פנים הוא ואמציהו מלך יהודה בבית שמש אשר ליהודה׃
so joash the king of israel went up; and they saw one another in the face, both he and amaziah king of judah, at beth-shemesh, which belongeth to judah.

ויפתח את באר התהום ויעל עשן מן הבאר כעשן כבשן גדול ויחשך השמש והרקיע מקיטר הבאר׃
and he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.

ויאמר יהוה מי יפתה את אחאב מלך ישראל ויעל ויפל ברמות גלעד ויאמר זה אמר ככה וזה אמר ככה׃
and the lord said, who shall entice ahab king of israel, that he may go up and fall at ramoth-gilead? and one spake saying after this manner, and another saying after that manner.

וירגז המלך ויעל על עלית השער ויבך וכה אמר בלכתו בני אבשלום בני בני אבשלום מי יתן מותי אני תחתיך אבשלום בני בני׃
and the king was much moved, and went up to the chamber over the gate, and wept: and as he went, thus he said, o my son absalom, my son, my son absalom! would god i had died for thee, o absalom, my son, my son!
