if there were in them gods other than god, they would have gone to ruin.
Агар дар замину осмон худоёне ғайри Оллоҳ мебуд, ҳар ду табоҳ мешуданд.

and the heavens shall be opened as if there were doors,
Осмон шикофта шавад ва ҳар шикоф даре бошад.

if there were, each god would have taken away his creatures and claimed superiority over the others.
Агар чунин мебуд ҳар худое бо офаридагони худ ба як сӯ мекашид ва бар якдигар болотаршавиро меҷустанд.

гӯӣ, ки уштуроне зард бошанд.

say, “if there were angels on earth, walking around in peace, we would have sent down to them from heaven an angel messenger.”
Бигӯ: «Агар дар рӯи замин фариштагон ба оромӣ роҳ мерафтанд, барояшон ба паёмбарӣ фариштае аз осмон нозил мекардем».

say, “if there were other gods with him, as they say, they would have sought a way to the lord of the throne.”
Бигӯ: «Ҳамчунон, ки мегӯянд, агар бо Ӯ худоёни Дигаре ҳам буданд, пас ба сӯи соҳиби арш роҳе ҷуста буданд».

and when our verses (of the quran) are recited to such a one, he turns away in pride, as if he heard them not, as if there were deafness in his ear.
Ва чун оёти Мо бар онҳо хонда шавад, бо худписандӣ рӯй баргардонанд, чунон ки гӯӣ нашунидаанд. Ё монанди касе, ки гӯшҳояш сангин (вазнин) шуда бошад.

say, "if there were settled, on earth, angels walking about in peace and quiet, we should certainly have sent them down from the heavens an angel for a messenger."

even if there were a quran, by which mountains could be set in motion, or by which the earth could be shattered, or by which the dead could be made to speak. in fact, every decision rests with god.
Агар Қуръоне тавонист буд, ки куҳҳо ба он ба ҷунбиш оянд ё замин пора-пора шавад, ё мурдагонро ба сухан орад, ҷуз ин Қуръон намебуд, ки ҳамаи корҳо аз они Худост.

proclaim, “if there were angels walking peacefully on the earth, we would send down only an angel from heaven, as a noble messenger towards them.”

and if there were a qur'an whereby the mountains could be moved or whereby the earth could be traversed or whereby the dead could be spoken to, it would be in vain. aye! the affair belongeth to allah entirely.
Агар Қуръоне тавонист буд, ки куҳҳо ба он ба ҷунбиш оянд ё замин пора-пора шавад, ё мурдагонро ба сухан орад, ҷуз ин Қуръон намебуд, ки ҳамаи корҳо аз они Худост.

say, "if there were [other] deities along with him, as they claim, then they would surely have tried to find a way to the lord of the throne.
Бигӯ: «Ҳамчунон, ки мегӯянд, агар бо Ӯ худоёни Дигаре ҳам буданд, пас ба сӯи соҳиби арш роҳе ҷуста буданд».

but should a bounty from allah come to you, he will say—as if there were no [tie of friendship and] affection between you and him—‘i wish i were with them so that i had achieved a great success!’
Ва чун моле аз ҷониби Худо насибатон шавад, чунон ки гӯӣ миёнатон ҳеҷ гуна дӯстие набудааст, гӯяд; «Эй кош, ман низ бо онҳо мебудам ва ба фондае бузург даст меёфтам!»

even if there were a quran by which mountains could be set in motion, by which the earth could be rent asunder, or by which the dead could be made to speak [they would not believe in it]. surely all things are subject to god's will.
Агар Қуръоне тавонист буд, ки куҳҳо ба он ба ҷунбиш оянд ё замин пора-пора шавад, ё мурдагонро ба сухан орад, ҷуз ин Қуръон намебуд, ки ҳамаи корҳо аз они Худост.

and the disbelievers said regarding the muslims, “if there were any good in it, the muslims would not have surpassed us in achieving it!”; and since they did not receive guidance with it, they will now say, “this is an old slander.”
Кофирон мӯъминонро гуфтанд: «Агар дар он хайре мебуд, инҳо аз мо пештар қабул намекарданд». Ва чун ба он роҳ наёфтанд, хоҳанд гуфт, ки ин дурӯғе дерина аст.

and even if there were a quran with which the mountains were made to pass away, or the earth were travelled over with it, or the dead were made to speak thereby; nay! the commandment is wholly allah's, have not yet those who believe known that if allah please he would certainly guide all the people?
Агар Қуръоне тавонист буд, ки куҳҳо ба он ба ҷунбиш оянд ё замин пора-пора шавад, ё мурдагонро ба сухан орад, ҷуз ин Қуръон намебуд, ки ҳамаи корҳо аз они Худост. Оё мӯъминон ҳанӯз надонистаанд, ки агар Худо мехост, ҳамаи мардумро ҳидоят мекард?
