the market is part of the fonds gesundes Österreich’s national nachdenken statt nachschenken (think before you top up) campaign. the aim of the campaign is to raise awareness of alcohol abuse and draw attention to the dangers of binge drinking. this year a new special alcohol-free punch will be available for children and teenagers, and the super-strength turbopunsch will be withdrawn from sale.
der christkindlmarkt beteiligt sich an der bundesweiten kampagne „nachdenken statt nachschenken“ des fonds gesundes Österreich. ziel dieser kampagne ist es, das gesellschaftliche bewusstsein so zu verändern, dass alkoholmissbrauch (stichwort „komatrinken“) immer seltener möglich wird. erstmals wird daher auf dem christkindlmarkt ein speziell für das jugendliche publikum kreierter alkoholfreier jugendpunsch ausgeschenkt und auf die abgabe von sogenanntem „turbopunsch“ verzichtet.
