Եւ դժոխքում, մինչ սա տանջանքների մէջ էր, բարձրացրեց իր աչքերը, հեռուից տեսաւ Աբրահամին եւ Ղազարոսին էլ՝ նրա գրկում հանգստացած:
and in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth abraham afar off, and lazarus in his bosom.

Երբ հրեաներից բազում ժողովուրդ իմացաւ, որ նա այնտեղ է, եկաւ. ոչ միայն Յիսուսի պատճառով, այլ՝ որպէսզի տեսնի նաեւ Ղազարոսին, որին մեռելներից վեր էր կացրել:
much people of the jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came not for jesus' sake only, but that they might see lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead.

Այն ժամանակ Յիսուս նրանց յայտնապէս ասաց. «Ղազարոսը մեռաւ.
then said jesus unto them plainly, lazarus is dead.
