ልብስህንም አጥራ ፡ ፡

so keep your duty to allah and obey me .
« አላህንም ፍሩ ታዘዙኝም ፡ ፡

therefor keep your duty to allah and obey me ,
« አላህንም ፍሩ ፤ ታዘዙኝም ፡ ፡

rather keep your duty to allah , and obey me .
« አላህንም ፍሩ ፤ ታዘዙኝም ፡ ፡

did he look into the future , or did he receive a promise from the most merciful ?
ሩቁን ምስጢር ዐወቀን ወይስ አልረሕማን ዘንድ ቃል ኪዳንን ያዘ

and keep your duty to allah , and shame me not !
« አላህንም ፍሩ ፤ አታሳፍሩኝም ፡ ፡ »

none will have power to intercede for them except one who obtains a promise from ar-rahman .
አልረሕማን ዘንድ ቃል ኪዳንን የያዘ ሰው ቢኾን እንጂ ማማለድን አይችሉም ፡ ፡

" so fear allah , keep your duty to him , and obey me .
« አላህንም ፍሩ ታዘዙኝም ፡ ፡

" so keep your duty to allah , fear him and obey me . "
« አላህንም ፍሩ ፤ ታዘዙኝም ፡ ፡ »

and keep your duty unto him who created you and the generations of the men of old .
« ያንንም የፈጠራችሁን የቀድሞዎቹንም ፍጡሮች ( የፈጠረውን ) ፍሩ ፡ ፡ »

my son is indeed from my family . your promise is indeed true , and you are the fairest of all judges . ’
ኑሕም ጌታውን ጠራ ፡ ፡ አለም « ጌታዬ ሆይ ! ልጄ ከቤተሰቤ ነው ፡ ፡ ኪዳንህም እውነት ነው ፡ ፡ አንተም ከፈራጆች ሁሉ ይበልጥ ዐዋቂ ነህ ፡ ፡ »

or have you taken a binding promise from us which would hold till the day of judgement , that you will get whatever you demand ?
ወይስ ለእናንተ የምትፈርዱት አላችሁ በማለት ( ቃል ኪዳን የገባንላችሁ ) እስከ ትንሣኤ ቀን ደራሽ የኾኑ መሓላዎች ለእናንተ በእኛ ላይ አሏችሁን ?

noah called out to his lord , saying , " my lord , my son was a part of my family . your promise was surely true .
ኑሕም ጌታውን ጠራ ፡ ፡ አለም « ጌታዬ ሆይ ! ልጄ ከቤተሰቤ ነው ፡ ፡ ኪዳንህም እውነት ነው ፡ ፡ አንተም ከፈራጆች ሁሉ ይበልጥ ዐዋቂ ነህ ፡ ፡ »

( bidding you ) : serve allah and keep your duty unto him and obey me ,
« አላህን ተገዙት ፣ ፍሩትም ፣ ታዘዙኝም በማለት ፤ ( አስጠንቃቂ ነኝ ) ፡ ፡

and do not keep your hand tied to your neck , nor spread it out fully , lest you end up liable and regretful .
እጅህንም ወደ አንገትህ የታሰረች አታድርግ ፡ ፡ መዘርጋትንም ሁሉ አትዘርጋት ፤ የተወቀስክ የተቆጨኽ ትኾናለህና ፡ ፡

and do not keep your hand tied to your neck nor open it completely , lest you remain seated – reproached , weary .
እጅህንም ወደ አንገትህ የታሰረች አታድርግ ፡ ፡ መዘርጋትንም ሁሉ አትዘርጋት ፤ የተወቀስክ የተቆጨኽ ትኾናለህና ፡ ፡

' our lord , fulfil what you promised to us through your messengers , and disgrace us not on the day of resurrection ; indeed you never go back on your promise .
« ጌታችን ሆይ ! በመልክተኞችህም ላይ ተስፋ ቃል ያደረግክልንን ስጠን ፡ ፡ በትንሣኤ ቀንም አታዋርደን ፡ ፡ አንተ ቀጠሮን አታፈርስምና » ( የሚሉ ናቸው ) ፡ ፡

" and keep your duty to him , fear him who has aided you with all ( good things ) that you know .
« ያንንም በምታውቁት ( ጸጋ ) ያጣቀማችሁን ፍሩ ፡ ፡

and noah called to his lord . he said , “ o my lord , my son is of my family , and your promise is true , and you are the wisest of the wise . ”
ኑሕም ጌታውን ጠራ ፡ ፡ አለም « ጌታዬ ሆይ ! ልጄ ከቤተሰቤ ነው ፡ ፡ ኪዳንህም እውነት ነው ፡ ፡ አንተም ከፈራጆች ሁሉ ይበልጥ ዐዋቂ ነህ ፡ ፡ »

allah hath prepared for them stern punishment ; so keep your duty to allah , o men of understanding ! o ye who believe !
አላህ ለእነርሱ ብርቱን ቅጣት አዘጋጀ ፡ ፡ እናንተም የአእምሮ ባለቤቶች ሆይ ! አላህን ፍሩ ፡ ፡ እነዚያ ያመኑ ( ሆይ ) ! አላህ ወደናንተ ግሳጼን በእርግጥ አወረደ ፡ ፡ መልክተኛን ( ላከ ) ፡ ፡
