Եւ եթէ քո աչքն է գայթակղեցնում քեզ, քաշիր հանի՛ր այն. լաւ է, որ դու մէկ աչքով մտնես Աստծու արքայութիւնը, քան թէ երկու աչք ունենաս ու ընկնես գեհեն,

Եւ եթէ քո աչքն է գայթակղեցնում քեզ, հանի՛ր այն եւ դէ՛ն գցիր քեզնից. լաւ է, որ դու միականի մտնես կեանք, քան երկու աչք ունենաս եւ ընկնես գեհենի կրակը:

and if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
Եւ եթէ քեզ գայթակղեցնում է քո ձեռքը, կտրիր դէ՛ն գցիր քեզնից, որովհետեւ քեզ համար աւելի լաւ է խեղուած մտնել յաւիտենական կեանքը, քան թէ երկու ձեռք ունենալ ու գնալ գեհեն, անշէջ կրակի մէջ:
