then jacob went on his journey, and came into the land of the people of the east.
Յակոբը վեր կացաւ գնաց արեւելեան երկիրը, ասորի Բաթուէլի որդի Լաբանի մօտ, որը Ռեբեկայի՝ Յակոբի ու Եսաւի մօր եղբայրն էր:

and he said, let us take our journey, and let us go, and i will go before thee.
Եսաւն ասաց. «Ելնենք գնանք ուղիղ ճանապարհով»:

and they took their journey from succoth, and encamped in etham, in the edge of the wilderness.
Սոկքոթից դուրս գալով՝ իսրայէլացիները եկան եւ կայք հաստատեցին Ոթոմում՝ անապատի եզրին:

Նրանց պատուիրեց, որ ճանապարհի համար գաւազանից բացի այլ բան չվերցնեն. ո՛չ պարկ, ո՛չ հաց, ո՛չ դրամ գօտիների մէջ,

and he said unto them, take nothing for your journey, neither staves, nor scrip, neither bread, neither money; neither have two coats apiece.
Եւ ասաց նրանց. «Ճանապարհի համար ոչինչ մի՛ վերցրէք. ո՛չ գաւազան եւ ո՛չ մախաղ, ո՛չ հաց եւ ո՛չ արծաթ դրամ. երկու հագուստ մի՛ ունեցէք.

and all the congregation of the children of israel journeyed from the wilderness of sin, after their journeys, according to the commandment of the lord, and pitched in rephidim: and there was no water for the people to drink.
Իսրայէլացի ամբողջ ժողովուրդը Տիրոջ կարգադրութեան համաձայն խումբ-խումբ գնաց Սին անապատից եւ կայք հաստատեց Ռափիդիմում: Այստեղ, սակայն, ջուր չկար, որ ժողովուրդը խմէր:
