4 escurrimiento por el fuste

sf= stemflow
sf= escurrimiento por el tronco

bulk deposition, throughfall, stemflow

throughfall, stemflow or open air samples shall be analysed separately.

samples from stemflow measurements can only be pooled for trees of the same species and similar size and dominance.

the volume of each collected sample from each individual throughfall, stemflow or open air collector shall be determined.

mandatory and optional parameters to be analysed on bulk deposition, throughfall, stemflow and fog samples are provided for in the following table:

the classic example is the beech forest where soil moisture levels are far higher where stemflow is concentrated near tree trunks and at sites midway between trees, where throughfall is at a maximum.

in semiarid areas, the process whereby plants intercept water and redirect this as stemflow to their roots has been recently quantified by de ploey (1982).

the chemical composition of the solutions entering the system reflected a strong marine influence, accounting for 85% of the ionic load and an acid-base status close to equilibrium of pure co2-h2o. there was an increase in acidity after passing through the forest canopy, particularly in the stemflow, for which a mean ph value of 4.1 was obtained; there was also an increase in the concentration of certain elements, such as mg, no3 and so4.
