(which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,)

and beginning at moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

dicit illis iesus numquam legistis in scripturis lapidem quem reprobaverunt aedificantes hic factus est in caput anguli a domino factum est istud et est mirabile in oculis nostri
jesus saith unto them, did ye never read in the scriptures, the stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?

now, though to ask for arguments from the scriptures, by which the free will is balanced in both its moments, and the indifferent faculty is built up, it would be too long and almost endless even tedious; i cannot, however, refrain from reading one more thing when i relate it, in which this choice of freedom shines forth not only in words, but also by example, under the eyes of the very eyes.
