and by ten nights ,
በዐሥር ሌሊቶችም ፡ ፡

nay , and by the moon ,
( ከክህደት ) ይከልከሉ ፡ ፡ በጨረቃ እምላለሁ ፡ ፡

and by the promised day ,
በተቀጠረው ቀንም ፤

and by the book in lines
በተጻፈው መጽሐፍም ፡ ፡

and by oath of ten nights .
በዐሥር ሌሊቶችም ፡ ፡

and [ by ] a book inscribed
በተጻፈው መጽሐፍም ፡ ፡

and by oath of mount sinai ,
በሲኒን ተራራም ፤

and [ by ] the frequented house
በደመቀው ቤትም ፡ ፡

and by the night as it closes in
በሌሊቱም ( ጨለማውን ) በጠነሰሰ ጊዜ ፤

and [ by ] the day when it appears
በቀኑም ፤ በተገለጸ ጊዜ ፡ ፡

and [ by ] the day when it displays it
በቀኑም ( ፀሐይን ) በገለጻት ጊዜ ፤

and [ by ] the morning when it brightens ,
በንጋቱም ባበራ ጊዜ ፡ ፡

and [ by ] the night and what it envelops
በሌሊቱም በሰበሰውም ሁሉ ፤

and [ by ] the earth which cracks open ,
( በበቃይ ) የመሰንጠቅ ባለቤት በኾነችው ምድርም ፤

and [ by ] the even [ number ] and the odd
በጥንዱም በነጠላውም ፡ ፡

and [ by ] the winds that spread [ clouds ]
መበተንን በታኞች በኾኑትም ፤ ( ነፋሶች ) ፣

and [ by ] those who glide [ as if ] swimming
መዋኘትም ዋኚዎች በኾኑት ፤

the jews answered him, we have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the son of god.
አይሁድም መልሰው። እኛ ሕግ አለን፥ እንደ ሕጋችንም ሊሞት ይገባዋል፥ ራሱን የእግዚአብሔር ልጅ አድርጎአልና አሉት።
