he will say , " oh , i wish i had sent ahead [ some good ] for my life . "
« ዋ እኔ ! ምነው በሕይወቴ ( መልካምን ሥራ ) ባስቀደምኩ ኖሮ » ይላል ፡ ፡

oh , woe to me ! i wish i had not taken that one as a friend .
« ዋ ጥፋቴ ! እገሌን ወዳጅ ባልያዝኩ ኖሮ እመኛለሁ ፡ ፡

he will say : " alas the woe ! would that i had sent ahead something in my life . "
« ዋ እኔ ! ምነው በሕይወቴ ( መልካምን ሥራ ) ባስቀደምኩ ኖሮ » ይላል ፡ ፡

but as for him who is given his book in his left hand , he will say , ‘ i wish i had not been given my book ,
መጽሐፉንም በግራው የተሰጠማ « ዋ ጥፋቴ ! ምነው መጽሐፌን ባልተሰጠሁ » ይላል ፡ ፡

but as for he who is given his record in his left hand , he will say , " oh , i wish i had not been given my record
መጽሐፉንም በግራው የተሰጠማ « ዋ ጥፋቴ ! ምነው መጽሐፌን ባልተሰጠሁ » ይላል ፡ ፡

and the day the wrongdoer will bite on his hands [ in regret ] he will say , " oh , i wish i had taken with the messenger a way .
በዳይም « ከመልክተኛው ጋር ቀጥተኛን መንገድ ይዤ በኾነ ዋ ምኞቴ ! » እያለ ( በጸጸት ) ሁለት እጆቹን የሚነክስበትን ቀን ( አስታውስ ) ፡ ፡

it will be a day when the wrongdoer will bite his hands , saying , ‘ i wish i had followed the apostle s way ’ !
በዳይም « ከመልክተኛው ጋር ቀጥተኛን መንገድ ይዤ በኾነ ዋ ምኞቴ ! » እያለ ( በጸጸት ) ሁለት እጆቹን የሚነክስበትን ቀን ( አስታውስ ) ፡ ፡

" i wish i had the power to resist you , " said ( lot ) , " or powerful support . "
« በእናንተ ላይ ለኔ ኀይል በኖረኝ ወይም ወደ ብርቱ ወገን ብጠጋ ኖሮ ( የምሠራውን በሠራሁ ነበር ) » አላቸው ፡ ፡

but if bounty comes to you from allah , he will surely say , as if there had never been between you and him any affection . " oh , i wish i had been with them so i could have attained a great attainment . "
ከአላህም የኾነ ችሮታ ቢያገኛችሁ በእናንተና በእርሱ መካከል ፍቅር እንዳልነበረች ሁሉ « ታላቅ ዕድልን አገኝ ዘንድ ከነሱ ጋር በኾንኩ ወይ ምኞቴ ! » ይላል ፡ ፡

and ruin closed in on his produce , and he began to wring his hands for what he had spent on it , as it lay fallen on its trellises . he was saying , ‘ i wish i had not ascribed any partner to my lord . ’
ሀብቱም ተጠፋ ፡ ፡ እርሷ በዳሶቿ ላይ የወደቀች ኾና በእርሷ ባወጣው ገንዘብ ላይ ( እየተጸጸተ ) መዳፎቹን የሚያገላብጥና « ወይ ጸጸቴ ! በጌታዬ አንድም ባላጋራሁ » የሚል ኾነ ፡ ፡

the labor-pains came upon her , by the trunk of a palm-tree . she said , “ i wish i had died before this , and been completely forgotten . ”
ምጡም ወደ ዘንባባይቱ ግንድ አስጠጋት ፡ ፡ « ዋ ምኞቴ ! ምነው ከዚህ በፊት በሞትኩ ፡ ፡ ተረስቼም የቀረሁ በሆንኩ » አለች ፡ ፡

but should a bounty from allah come to you , he will say — as if there were no [ tie of friendship and ] affection between you and him — ‘ i wish i were with them so that i had achieved a great success ! ’
ከአላህም የኾነ ችሮታ ቢያገኛችሁ በእናንተና በእርሱ መካከል ፍቅር እንዳልነበረች ሁሉ « ታላቅ ዕድልን አገኝ ዘንድ ከነሱ ጋር በኾንኩ ወይ ምኞቴ ! » ይላል ፡ ፡

and his fruits were encompassed [ by ruin ] , so he began to turn his hands about [ in dismay ] over what he had spent on it , while it had collapsed upon its trellises , and said , " oh , i wish i had not associated with my lord anyone . "
ሀብቱም ተጠፋ ፡ ፡ እርሷ በዳሶቿ ላይ የወደቀች ኾና በእርሷ ባወጣው ገንዘብ ላይ ( እየተጸጸተ ) መዳፎቹን የሚያገላብጥና « ወይ ጸጸቴ ! በጌታዬ አንድም ባላጋራሁ » የሚል ኾነ ፡ ፡
