እኛ ውሃን ማንቧቧትን ያንቧቧን መኾናችንን ፡ ፡

እነርሱ ( ያንን ቀን ) ሩቅ አድርገው ያዩታል ፡ ፡

and place it in a secure place
በተጠበቀ መርጊያ ውስጥም ( በማሕፀን ) አደረግነው ፡ ፡

let any who will , keep it in remembrance !
ስለዚህ የሻ ሰው ይገሰጽበታል ፡ ፡

then lodged it in a secure place ?

« ጸጥተኞች ኾናችሁ በሰላም ግቧት ( ይባላሉ ) ፡ ፡

የሻም ሰው ( ቁርኣኑን ) ያስታውሰዋል ፡ ፡

then , he shall be recompensed for it in full repayment
ከዚያም ሙሉውን ምንዳ ይመነዳዋል ፡ ፡

enter it in peace , that is the day of abiding .
« በሰላም ግቧት ይህ የመዘውተሪያ ቀን ነው » ( ይባላሉ ) ፡ ፡

then placed it in a secure repository [ the womb ] ,
በተጠበቀ መርጊያ ውስጥም ( በማሕፀን ) አደረግነው ፡ ፡

and how can you take it when one of you has already gone in to the other and they have made with you a firm covenant ?
ከፊላችሁ ወደ ከፊሉ በእርግጥ የደረሰ ሲኾንና ከእናንተ ላይም ( ሴቶች ) የጠበቀ ኪዳንን የያዙባችሁ ሲኾኑ እንዴት ትወስዱታላችሁ !

and how can ye take it back when one of you hath gone in unto the other , and they have obtained from you a rigid bond !
ከፊላችሁ ወደ ከፊሉ በእርግጥ የደረሰ ሲኾንና ከእናንተ ላይም ( ሴቶች ) የጠበቀ ኪዳንን የያዙባችሁ ሲኾኑ እንዴት ትወስዱታላችሁ !

and when you call to prayer , they take it in ridicule and amusement . that is because they are a people who do not use reason .
ወደ ሶላትም በጠራችሁ ጊዜ ( ጥሪይቱን ) መሳለቂያና መጫወቻ አድርገው ይይዟታል ፡ ፡ ይህ እነርሱ የማያውቁ ሕዝቦች በመኾናቸው ነው ፡ ፡

and when you call to prayer , take it in mockery and as a sport ; that is because they are a people who have no understanding .
ወደ ሶላትም በጠራችሁ ጊዜ ( ጥሪይቱን ) መሳለቂያና መጫወቻ አድርገው ይይዟታል ፡ ፡ ይህ እነርሱ የማያውቁ ሕዝቦች በመኾናቸው ነው ፡ ፡

we have sent a measure of water from the sky to stay on earth and we have the power to take it away .
ከሰማይም ውሃን በልክ አወረድን ፡ ፡ በምድርም ውስጥ አስቀመጥነው ፡ ፡ እኛም እርሱን በማስወገድ ላይ በእርግጥ ቻዮች ነን ፡ ፡

how can you take it back when you have had intimate relations and made a solemn agreement with each other ?
ከፊላችሁ ወደ ከፊሉ በእርግጥ የደረሰ ሲኾንና ከእናንተ ላይም ( ሴቶች ) የጠበቀ ኪዳንን የያዙባችሁ ሲኾኑ እንዴት ትወስዱታላችሁ !

and when ye call to prayer they take it for a jest and sport . that is because they are a folk who understand not .
