ምን ያሳውቅሃል ? ( ከኀጢአቶቹ ) ሊጥራራ ይከጀላል ፡ ፡

and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night ?
የሌሊት መጪውም ምን እንደ ኾነ ምን አሳወቀህ ?

what could let you know what the day of recompense is !
የፍርድ ቀን ምን እንደኾነ ምን አሳወቀህ ?

what could let you know what the night of honor is !
መወሰኛይቱም ሌሊተ ምን እንደ ኾነች ምን አሳወቀህ ?

and what could make you understand what the sijjin is ? --
ሲጂንም ምን እንደ ኾነ ምን አሳወቀህ ?

again , what could let you know what the day of recompense is !
ከዚያም የፍርዱ ቀን ምን እንደኾነ ምን አሳወቀህ ?

and what could let you know ? perhaps he ( comes to hear you ) to be purified .
ምን ያሳውቅሃል ? ( ከኀጢአቶቹ ) ሊጥራራ ይከጀላል ፡ ፡

but what could tell thee but that perchance he might grow ( in spiritual understanding ) ? -
ምን ያሳውቅሃል ? ( ከኀጢአቶቹ ) ሊጥራራ ይከጀላል ፡ ፡

and certainly he led astray numerous people from among you . what ! could you not then understand ?
ከእናንተም ብዙን ፍጡር በእርግጥ አሳስቷል ፡ ፡ የምታውቁም አልነበራችሁምን ?

what ! could they not see that it did not return to them a reply , and ( that ) it did not control any harm or benefit for them ?
ወደእነሱ ንግግርን የማይመልስ ለእነሱም ጉዳትንና ጥቅምን የማይችል መኾኑን አያዩምን

then said one unto him, lord, are there few that be saved? and he said unto them,
አንድ ሰውም። ጌታ ሆይ፥ የሚድኑ ጥቂቶች ናቸውን? አለው። እርሱም እንዲህ አላቸው።

what could be your reason for not believing in god , when the messenger calls on you to have faith in your lord and he has already made a covenant with you , if indeed you are true believers ?
መልክተኛው በጌታችሁ እንድታምኑ የሚጠራችሁ ሲኾን ( ጌታችሁ ) ኪዳናችሁንም የያዘባችሁ ሲኾን በአላህ የማታምኑት ለእናንተ ምን አልላችሁ ? የምታምኑ ብትኾኑ ( ወደ እምነት ቸኩሉ ) ፡ ፡

salute herodion my kinsman. greet them that be of the household of narcissus, which are in the lord.
ለዘመዴ ለሄሮድዮና ሰላምታ አቅርቡልኝ። ከንርቀሱ ቤተ ሰዎች በጌታ ላሉት ሰላምታ አቅርቡልኝ።

but when jesus heard that, he said unto them, they that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.
ኢየሱስም ሰምቶ። ሕመምተኞች እንጂ ባለ ጤናዎች ባለ መድኃኒት አያስፈልጋቸውም፤

those who believe know that it is the truth from their lord . as for those who disbelieve they ask : ' what could allah mean by this parable ?
አላህ ማንኛውንም ነገር ትንኝንም ኾነ ( በትንሽነት ወይም በትልቅነት ) ከበላይዋ የኾነንም ምሳሌ ለማድረግ አያፍርም ፡ ፡ እነዚያ ያመኑትማ ፤ እርሱ ( ምሳሌው ) ከጌታቸው ( የተገኘ ) እውነት መኾኑን ያውቃሉ ፡ ፡ እነዚያም የካዱትማ « አላህ በዚህ ምንን ምሳሌ ሻ » ይላሉ ፡ ፡ በርሱ ( በምሳሌው ) ብዙዎችን ያሳስታል በርሱም ብዙዎችን ያቀናል ፡ ፡ በርሱም አመፀኞችን እንጅ ሌላን አያሳስትም ፡ ፡

let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. for there is no power but of god: the powers that be are ordained of god.
ነፍስ ሁሉ በበላይ ላሉት ባለ ሥልጣኖች ይገዛ። ከእግዚአብሔር ካልተገኘ በቀር ሥልጣን የለምና፤ ያሉትም ባለ ሥልጣኖች በእግዚአብሔር የተሾሙ ናቸው።

it is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth:
እንደ ሰናፍጭ ቅንጣት ናት፥ እርስዋም በምድር በተዘራች ጊዜ በምድር ካለ ዘር ሁሉ ታንሳለች፤ በተዘራችም ጊዜ ትወጣለች ከአትክልትም ሁሉ የምትበልጥ ትሆናለች፥

to all that be in rome, beloved of god, called to be saints: grace to you and peace from god our father, and the lord jesus christ.
በእግዚአብሔር ለተወደዳችሁና ቅዱሳን ልትሆኑ ለተጠራችሁ በሮሜ ላላችሁት ሁሉ፥ ከእግዚአብሔር ከአባታችን ከጌታም ከኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ጸጋና ሰላም ለእናንተ ይሁን።

and he feedeth , and is not fed . say thou : i am commanded that i be the first who submitteth himself , and that : be thou not of the associaters .
« ሰማያትንና ምድርን ፈጣሪ ከኾነው አላህ እርሱ የሚመግብ የማይመገብም ሲኾን ሌላን አምላክ እይዛለሁን » በላቸው ፡ ፡ « እኔ መጀመሪያ ትእዛዝን ከተቀበለ ሰው ልኾን ታዘዝኩ ፡ ፡ ከአጋሪዎችም ፈጽሞ አትኹን ( ተብያለሁ ) » በላቸው ፡ ፡

and indeed we bestowed wisdom to luqman ( saying ) that , “ be grateful to allah ” ; and whoever is grateful , is grateful for his own good ; and whoever is ungrateful – then indeed allah is the absolute , the most praiseworthy .
ለሉቅማንም ጥበብን በእርግጥ ሰጠነው ፡ ፡ ( አልነውም ) ፡ - « አላህን አመስግን ፡ ፡ » ያመሰገነም ሰው የሚያመሰግነው ለራሱ ብቻ ነው ፡ ፡ የካደም ሰው ( በራሱ ላይ ነው ) ፡ ፡ አላህ ተብቃቂ ምስጉን ነውና ፡ ፡
