if you are upon a journey and a scribe cannot be found , then let pledges be taken . if any of you trusts another let the trusted deliver his trust ; and let him fear allah his lord .
በጉዞም ላይ ብትኾኑና ጸሐፊን ባታገኙ የተጨበጡ መተማመኛዎችን ያዙ ፡ ፡ ከፊላችሁም ከፊሉን ቢያምን ያ የታመነው ሰው አደራውን ያድርስ ፡ ፡ አላህንም ጌታውን ይፍራ ፡ ፡ ምስክርነትንም አትደብቁ ፡ ፡ የሚደብቃትም ሰው እርሱ ልቡ ኃጢኣተኛ ነው ፡ ፡ አላህም የምትሠሩትን ሁሉ ዐዋቂ ነው ፡ ፡

if you are on a journey , and cannot find a scribe , then a security deposit should be handed over . but if you trust one another , let the trustee fulfill his trust , and let him fear god , his lord .
በጉዞም ላይ ብትኾኑና ጸሐፊን ባታገኙ የተጨበጡ መተማመኛዎችን ያዙ ፡ ፡ ከፊላችሁም ከፊሉን ቢያምን ያ የታመነው ሰው አደራውን ያድርስ ፡ ፡ አላህንም ጌታውን ይፍራ ፡ ፡ ምስክርነትንም አትደብቁ ፡ ፡ የሚደብቃትም ሰው እርሱ ልቡ ኃጢኣተኛ ነው ፡ ፡ አላህም የምትሠሩትን ሁሉ ዐዋቂ ነው ፡ ፡

if you are on a journey where you cannot find a scribe , finalize your contract in the form of a deposit in which the goods are already given to the parties . if you trust each other in such a contract , let him pay back what he has entrusted you with and have fear of god , his lord .
በጉዞም ላይ ብትኾኑና ጸሐፊን ባታገኙ የተጨበጡ መተማመኛዎችን ያዙ ፡ ፡ ከፊላችሁም ከፊሉን ቢያምን ያ የታመነው ሰው አደራውን ያድርስ ፡ ፡ አላህንም ጌታውን ይፍራ ፡ ፡ ምስክርነትንም አትደብቁ ፡ ፡ የሚደብቃትም ሰው እርሱ ልቡ ኃጢኣተኛ ነው ፡ ፡ አላህም የምትሠሩትን ሁሉ ዐዋቂ ነው ፡ ፡

( then going to their father ) they said : " o father , why don 't you trust us with joseph ? we are in fact his well-wishers .
( እነሱም ) አሉ « አባታችን ሆይ ! በዩሱፍ ላይ ለምን አታምነንም እኛም ለእርሱ በእርግጥ አዛኞች ነን ፡ ፡ »

among the people given the book ( s ) is one who , if you trust him with a heap of treasure , will return it to you ; and among them is one who , if you trust him with ( just ) one coin , will not return it to you unless you constantly stand over him ( keep demanding ) ; that is because they say , “ we are not obliged in any way , in the case of illiterates ” ; and they purposely fabricate lies against allah .
ከመጽሐፉ ሰዎችም በብዙ ገንዘብ ብታምነው ወዳንተ የሚመልስ ሰው አልለ ፡ ፡ ከእነሱም በአንድ ዲናር እንኳ ብታምነው ፤ ሁል ጊዜ በርሱ ላይ የምትጠባበቅ ካልኾንክ በስተቀር የማይመልስ ሰው አልለ ፡ ፡ « ይህ በመሃይምናን ( በምናደርገው ) በእኛ ላይ ምንም መንገድ የለብንም » ስለሚሉ ነው ፡ ፡ እነርሱ እያወቁም በአላህ ላይ ውሸትን ይናገራሉ ፡ ፡
