l'invention porte sur un appareil de distraction permettant d'allonger la mâchoire inférieure après une ostéotomie corticale. cet appareil est constitué de plusieurs éléments, à savoir: une vis distale d'ancrage (1) dont une partie (2) est vissée dans un alésage ménagé dans la branche ascendante de la mâchoire inférieure (ramus mandibularis) et dont l'extrémité libre porte une tête polygonale (4), hexagonale de préférence, ainsi qu'une bague d'articulation (5), une vis d'expansion (6) raccordée à la vis distale d'ancrage (1) au moyen d'un assemblage articulé consistant en une vis de fixation (7) servant également d'articulation à pivot s'adaptant à la bague d'articulation (5), un arrêtoir (8) maintenant l'articulation dans une position rigide dans une direction demeurant inchangée et enfin une pièce de liaison (9) pourvue d'un filetage interne (10) destinée à rattacher une plaque de fixation, placée à l'aide de vis (12), sur un coté de l'arc mandibulaire traversé au ciseau.
