इस प्रकार सत्ता में सीमित हुई तथा अपने परिपार्श्व में दूसरे से स्वतः ही पूथक् हुई अन्तरात्मा फिर अपने परम आत्मा एवं ईश्चर के साथ तथा इस जगत् के एवं अपने चारां और की सब वस्तुओं के साथ अपनी एकता और समस्वरता को अनुभव नहीं करती , उल्टे वह इस विश्व के साथ अपना असामंजस्य अनुभव करती है , अन्य प्राणियों के साथ , जो वस्तुतः उसकी ही दूसरी आत्माएं हैं पर जिनके साथ वह अनात्मा के रूप में व्यवहार करती है , संघर्ष और विरोध - वैषम्य में ग्रस्त रहती है , और जब तक यह विरोध - वैषम्य एवं असामज्यस्य बने रहते हैं जब तक वह अपने जगत् को अपने अधिकार में नहीं ला सकती तथा विराट् जीवन का आनंद नहीं उठा सकती , बल्कि तब तक वह भय , व्याकुलता तथा सब प्रकार की वेदनाओं से संकुल रहती है , अपनी रक्षा और अभिवृद्धि करने तथा अपनी परिस्थितियों को अपने अधिकार में लाने के लिये कष्टप्रद संघर्ष में उलझी रहती है , - क्योंकि अपने आत्मा की मुक्ति 691 जगत् को अपने अधिकार में लाना अनन्त आत्मा का निज स्वभाव है तथा प्राणिमात्र की एक आवश्यकता एवं बलवती प्रवृत्ति है ।
