but their belief profited them naught when they saw our prowess. this hath been allah's dispensation that hath- been in regard to his bondmen. and then there were lost the infidels.
하나님의 벌이 임하였을 때 그들이 믿는 것은 그들을 유용케 하지 못하니라 이것이 하나님의 율법으로 이것은 그분의 종들에게행하셨던 것이니 불신자들에게는 멸망만이 있을 뿐이라

but if they are too proud (to do so), then there are those who are with your lord (angels) glorify him night and day, and never are they tired.
그러나 그들이 오만해한다 하여도 그대 주님과 함께 있는 그들은 밤과 낮으로 그분 하나님을 찬미함에 피곤해 하지 않노라

worldly desires, wives, children, accumulated treasures of gold and silver, horses of noble breed, cattle, and farms are all made to seem attractive to men. all these are the bounties of the worldly life but in the life to come god has the best place for people to dwell.
여성들과 자녀들과 금은 보화들과 말들과 가축들과 농경지들은 인간의 현세 즐거움으로 장식 되었으니 이것들은 현세 생활의 즐거움이라 그러나 하나님 가까이있는 것이 보다 즐거운 안식처라

and allah has created you and then he will cause you to die, and of you there are some who are sent back to senility, so that they know nothing after having known (much). truly! allah is all-knowing, all-powerful.
너희를 창조한 분이 그분이 시라 그런 후 너희의 생명을 거둬 가시는 분도 그분이시며 또한 노 령이 되게 하여 알았던 것을 잊도록 하신 분도 그분이시매 실로 하 나님은 아심과 능력으로 충만하심 이라

and in the succession of night and day, and in the provision that allah sends down from the sky wherewith he gives life to the earth after it had been lifeless, and in the change of the winds: (in all these) there are signs for people who use reason.
낮과 밤이 교차되는 것도 하 나님께서 하늘로부터 일용할 양식 을 주시는 것도 그리고 죽은 대지를 소생케하며 바람의 방향을변화시키는 것도 이해하는 백성 들을 위한 예증이라

ah! there you are, being invited to spend in the way of allah; yet among you there are those who are stingy; and whoever is stingy is stingy only to himself. allah is the all-sufficient, and you are all-needy, and if you turn away he will replace you with another people, and they will not be like you.
하나님의 사업을 위해 재물을 쓰라고 하셨지만 너희 가운데 는 인색해 하는 자 있나니 인색해하는 자는 그의 영혼에 거역하여 인색해 하는 것이라 그러나 하나 넘은 풍요로우시니 너희가 가난한자들로 하나님을 필요로 하고 있 노라 그래도 너희가 외면한다면 그분은 너희의 거주지에 너희 같 이 아니한 다른 백성으로 너희를 대체하시니라
