verily those who love that in decency should be propagated regarding those who believe, for them shall be a torment afflictive in the world and the hereafter. and allah knoweth, and ye know not.
اور جو لوگ اس بات کو پسند کرتے ہیں کہ مومنوں میں بےحیائی یعنی (تہمت بدکاری کی خبر) پھیلے ان کو دنیا اور آخرت میں دکھ دینے والا عذاب ہوگا۔ اور خدا جانتا ہے اور تم نہیں جانتے

o the wives of the prophet! if any among you dares to commit an act contrary to decency, for her will be double the punishment of others; and this is easy for allah.
اے اَزواجِ نبیِ (مکرّم!) تم میں سے کوئی ظاہری معصیت کی مرتکب ہو تو اس کے لئے عذاب دوگنا کر دیا جائے گا، اور یہ اﷲ پر بہت آسان ہے،

let the women [who are undergoing a waiting period] live in the same manner as you live yourselves, in accordance with your means; and do not harass them in order to make their lives difficult. if they are pregnant, maintain them until they give birth; if they suckle your infants, pay them for it; discuss things among yourselves in all decency -- if you cannot bear with each other, let another woman suckle for you --
ان (مطلقہ عورتوں) کو (زمانۂ عدت میں) وہاں رکھو جہاں اپنی حیثیت کے مطابق تم خود رہتے ہو اور انہیں ضرر و زیاں نہ پہنچاؤ تاکہ ان پر تنگی کرو۔ اور اگر وہ حاملہ ہوں تو پھر ان پر خرچ کرو یہاں تک ان کا وضعِ حمل ہو جائے پھر اگر تمہارے لئے (بچہ) کو دودھ پلائیں تو تم انہیں ان کی اجرت دو اور منا سب طریقہ پر باہم طے کر لو اور اگر تمہیں باہم کوئی دشواری پیش آئے (اور باہمی اتفاق نہ ہو سکے) تو پھر کوئی اور عورت اسے دودھ پلائے گی۔
