(اس وقت کیا حالت ہوگی) جب آسمان پھٹ جائے گا اور (رنگے ہوئے) سرخ چمڑے کی طرح لال ہو جائے گا۔

اسی طرح ہم آیات کی تفصیل کرتے رہتے ہیں اور تاکہ مجرمین کا طریقہ ﻇاہر ہوجائے

اور جسے رند تو آئے (شب کوری ہو) رحمن کے ذکر سے ہم اس پر ایک شیطان تعینات کریں کہ وہ اس کا ساتھی رہے،

so when they will see it close, the faces of the disbelievers will become ghastly, and it will be declared, “this is what you were demanding.”
جب یہ لوگ اس وعدے کو قریب تر پالیں گے اس وقت ان کافروں کے چہرے بگڑ جائیں گے اور کہہ دیا جائے گا کہ یہی ہے جسے تم طلب کیا کرتے تھے

(they will become aware of it) the day when the chastisement will overwhelm them from above and from under their feet, and he will say to them: “taste now the consequence of the deeds that you used to commit.”
(اور انہیں پتہ چلے گا) اُس روز جبکہ عذاب انہیں اُوپر سے بھی ڈھانک لے گا اور پاؤں کے نیچے سے بھی اور کہے گا کہ اب چکھو مزا ان کرتوتوں کا جو تم کرتے تھے

and we said, “o adam! you and your wife dwell in this garden, and eat freely from it wherever you please – but do not approach this tree for you will become of those who transgress.”
اور ہم نے حکم دیا: اے آدم! تم اور تمہاری بیوی اس جنت میں رہائش رکھو اور تم دونوں اس میں سے جو چاہو، جہاں سے چاہو کھاؤ، مگر اس درخت کے قریب نہ جانا ورنہ حد سے بڑھنے والوں میں (شامل) ہو جاؤ گے،

and the true promise has come near – thereupon the eyes of the disbelievers will become fixed, staring wide; saying “woe to us – we were in neglect of this, but in fact we were unjust.”
اور (جب) اللہ کا سچا وعدہ (قیامت کا) قریب آجائے گا تو ایک دم کافروں کی آنکھیں پھٹی رہ جائیں گی (اور کہیں گے) ہائے افسوس! ہم اس سے غفلت میں رہے بلکہ ہم ظالم تھے۔
