and you give provision to whom you will without account."
Ва ба ҳар ки бихоҳӣ, беҳисоб рӯзӣ медиҳӣ!

Худову паёмбараш безоранд аз мушриконе, ки бо онҳо паймон бастаед.

Пас ба Ман нишон диҳед онҳо, ки ғайри Ӯ ҳастанд, чӣ офаридаанд.

Ҳар киро бихоҳад, рӯзӣ медиҳад.

(o prophet), you cannot grant guidance to whom you please.
Ту ҳар касро, ки бихоҳӣ, ҳидоят намекунӣ.

indeed those whom you worship besides allah have no control over your provision.
Онҳое, ки ғайри Худои якто мепарастед, наметавонанд шуморо рузӣ диҳанд.

as to those with whom you have made a solemn covenant, give them their share. allah watches over all things.
Ва насиби ҳар касро, ки бо ӯ қароре кардаед, бипардозед, ки Худо бар ҳар чизе гувоҳ аст!

and why should i not worship he who created me and to whom you will be returned?
Чаро Худоеро, ки маро офаридааст ва ба назди Ӯ бозгардонда мешавед, напарастам?

he then continued: "look! this is he whom you have exalted above me!
Ва гуфт: «Бо ман бигӯй, чаро инро бар ман бартарӣ ниҳодаӣ?

[iblees] said, "do you see this one whom you have honored above me?

Касоне, ки ту аз онон паймон гирифтӣ, сипас паёпай паймони хешро мешикананд ва ҳеҷ наметарсанд.

and [further] said, "do you see this being whom you have exalted above me?
Ва гуфт: «Бо ман бигӯй, чаро инро бар ман бартарӣ ниҳодаӣ?

iblis replied, "i did not want to prostrate before a human being whom you have created out of mud-moulded clay".
Гуфт: «Ман барои башаре, ки аз гили хушк, аз лойи бӯйнок офаридаӣ, саҷда намекунам».
