உம்முடைய இறைவனிடமிருந்துள்ள வேதனையிலிருந்து ஒரு மூச்சு அவர்களைத் தீண்டுமானாலும், "எங்களுக்குக் கேடு தான்! திட்டமாக நாங்கள் அநியாயக்காரர்களாகவே இருந்தோம்" என்று அவர்கள் நிச்சயமாக கூ(றிக் கத)றுவார்கள்.

indeed, they were near to seducing you from that we revealed to you, so that you might forge against us another, and then they would surely have taken you as a friend;
(நபியே!) இன்னும் நாம் உமக்கு வஹீ மூலம் அறிவித்தோமே அதை விட்டும், அதல்லாததை நம்மீது நீர் இட்டுக்கட்டிக் கூறும்படி உம்மைத் திருப்பிவிடவே அவர்கள் முனைந்தார்கள்; (அவ்வாறு நீர் செய்திருந்தால்) உம்மை தம் உற்ற நண்பராகவும் அப்போது எடுத்துக் கொண்டிருப்பார்கள்.

(என்றும் கூறுகின்றனர்) அன்றியும், இந்த அநியாயக் காரர்கள்; (முஃமின்களை நோக்கி) "சூனியம் செய்யப்பட்ட ஒரு மனிதரையேயன்றி, வேறெவரையும் நீங்கள் பின்பற்றவில்லை" என்றும் கூறுகிறார்கள்.

and indeed, they were about to tempt you away from that which we revealed to you in order to [make] you invent about us something else; and then they would have taken you as a friend.
(நபியே!) இன்னும் நாம் உமக்கு வஹீ மூலம் அறிவித்தோமே அதை விட்டும், அதல்லாததை நம்மீது நீர் இட்டுக்கட்டிக் கூறும்படி உம்மைத் திருப்பிவிடவே அவர்கள் முனைந்தார்கள்; (அவ்வாறு நீர் செய்திருந்தால்) உம்மை தம் உற்ற நண்பராகவும் அப்போது எடுத்துக் கொண்டிருப்பார்கள்.
