do you think we created you for nothing, and that you will not return to us?"
"நாம் உங்களைப் படைத்ததெல்லாம் வீணுக்காக என்றும், நீங்கள் நம்மிடத்தில் நிச்சயமாக மீட்டப்பட மாட்டீர்கள் என்றும் எண்ணிக் கொண்டீர்களா?" (என்றும் இறைவன் கேட்பான்.)

and those they call upon, apart from god, created nothing, and themselves are created,
அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி வேறு எவர்களை அவர்கள் பிரார்த்திக்கிறார்களோ, அவர்கள் எந்தப் பொருளையும் படைக்க மாட்டார்கள்; அவர்(களால் பிரார்த்திக்கப்படுபவர்)களும் படைக்கப்பட்டவர்களாவார்கள்.

do they ascribe [to him] partners that create nothing and have been created themselves,
எந்தப் பொருளையும் படைக்க இயலாதவற்றையா இவர்கள் (அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு) இணையாக்குகிறார்கள்? இன்னும், அவர்களோ (அல்லாஹ்வினாலேயே) படைக்கப்பட்டவர்களாயிற்றே!

do they associate with him those who create nothing and they are [themselves] created?
எந்தப் பொருளையும் படைக்க இயலாதவற்றையா இவர்கள் (அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு) இணையாக்குகிறார்கள்? இன்னும், அவர்களோ (அல்லாஹ்வினாலேயே) படைக்கப்பட்டவர்களாயிற்றே!

and accepts the best,
நல்லவற்றை (அவை நல்லவையென்று) உண்மையாக்குகின்றாரோ,

my lord! make me establisher of prayer and also from my progeny, our lord! and accept thou my supplication.
("என்) இறைவனே! தொழுகையை நிலைநிறுத்துவோராக என்னையும், என்னுடைய சந்ததியிலுள்ளோரையும் ஆக்குவாயாக! எங்கள் இறைவனே! என்னுடைய பிரார்த்தனையையும் ஏற்றுக் கொள்வாயாக!"

except the men, women, and children who, being abased, can devise nothing and are not guided to a way;
(ஆனால்) ஆண்களிலும், பெண்களிலும், சிறுவர்களிலும் பலஹீனமானவர்களைத் தவிர - ஏனெனில் இவர்கள் எவ்வித உபாயமும் தெரியாதவர்கள்; (வெளியேறிச் செல்ல) வழியும் அறியாதவர்கள்.

and allah brought you forth from the wombs of your mothers knowing nothing, and gave you hearing and sight and hearts that haply ye might give thanks.
உங்கள் மாதாக்களின் வயிறுகளிலிருந்து நீங்கள் ஒன்றுமே அறியாதவர்களாக இருந்த நிலையில் உங்களை அல்லாஹ் வெளிப்படுத்துகிறான்; அன்றியும் உங்களுக்குச் செவிப்புலனையும், பார்வைகளையும், இதயங்களையும் - நீங்கள் நன்றி செலுத்தும் பொருட்டு - அவனே அமைத்தான்.

my lord! make me keep up prayer and from my offspring (too), o our lord, and accept my prayer:
("என்) இறைவனே! தொழுகையை நிலைநிறுத்துவோராக என்னையும், என்னுடைய சந்ததியிலுள்ளோரையும் ஆக்குவாயாக! எங்கள் இறைவனே! என்னுடைய பிரார்த்தனையையும் ஏற்றுக் கொள்வாயாக!"
