and lest a person should say: “if only allah had guided me, i should have been one of the god-fearing”;
அல்லது "அல்லாஹ் எனக்கு நேர்வழியை அறிவித்திருந்தால், நானும் முத்தகீன் - பயபக்தியுடையவர்களின் - ஒருவனாகி இருப்பேனே!" என்று கூறாமல் இருப்பதற்காகவும்;

and he had-read it unto them, even then they would not have been believers therein.
இவ்வாறே, நாம் குற்றவாளிகளின் இதயங்களிலும் இதனை புகுத்துகிறோம்.

அல்லது "அல்லாஹ் எனக்கு நேர்வழியை அறிவித்திருந்தால், நானும் முத்தகீன் - பயபக்தியுடையவர்களின் - ஒருவனாகி இருப்பேனே!" என்று கூறாமல் இருப்பதற்காகவும்;

(this would not have been possible) if the grace and benevolence of god were not upon you; but god is compassionate and wise.
இன்னும் உங்கள் மீது அல்லாஹ்வுடைய நல்லருளும், அவனுடைய ரஹ்மத்தும் இல்லாது போயிருப்பின், (உங்களுக்கு அழிவு உண்டாயிருக்கும்;) நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் தவ்பாவை ஏற்றுக் கொள்பவனாகவும் ஞானமுடையோனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்.

we could have turned them into other creatures on the spot had we wanted and they would not have been able to precede or turn back.
அன்றியும், நாம் நாடியிருந்தால், அவர்களுடைய இடத்திலேயே அவர்களை உரு மாற்றியிருப்போம். அப்போது, அவர்கள் முன் செல்லவும் சக்தி பெறமாட்டார்கள்; இன்னும் அவர்கள் மீளவும் மாட்டார்கள்.

if those had really been deities, they would not have been led there; but there they will remain forever.
