we shall make you recite so that you will not forget,
(நபியே!) நாம் உமக்கு ஓதக்கற்றுக் கொடுப்போம்; அதனால் நீர் அதை மறக்கமாட்டீர்-

it may be that you will destroy yourself with grief because they will not believe.
(நபியே!) அவர்கள் முஃமின்களாகாமல் இருப்பதற்காக (துக்கத்தால்) உம்மை நீரே அழித்துக்கொள்வீர் போலும்!

he said: did i not say that you will not be able to have patience with me?
(அதற்கு அவர்,) "நிச்சயமாக நீர் என்னுடன் பொறுமையைக் கடைப்பிடிக்க முடியாது என்று உமக்கு நான் சொல்லவில்லையா? என்றார்.

do you think we created you for nothing, and that you will not return to us?"
"நாம் உங்களைப் படைத்ததெல்லாம் வீணுக்காக என்றும், நீங்கள் நம்மிடத்தில் நிச்சயமாக மீட்டப்பட மாட்டீர்கள் என்றும் எண்ணிக் கொண்டீர்களா?" (என்றும் இறைவன் கேட்பான்.)

did you suppose that we created you aimlessly, and that you will not be brought back to us?’
"நாம் உங்களைப் படைத்ததெல்லாம் வீணுக்காக என்றும், நீங்கள் நம்மிடத்தில் நிச்சயமாக மீட்டப்பட மாட்டீர்கள் என்றும் எண்ணிக் கொண்டீர்களா?" (என்றும் இறைவன் கேட்பான்.)

he responded, "did i not tell you that you will not be able to remain patient with me?"
(அதற்கு அவர்) "நிச்சயமாக நீர் என்னுடன் பொறுமையாக இருக்க இயலாது என்று உமக்கு நாம் சொல்லவில்லையா?" என்று கூறினார்.

did you imagine that we created you without any purpose, and that you will not be brought back to us?"

so that you will not be saddened for whatever does not come to you, nor be overjoyed in what has come to you. allah does not love those who are proudand boastful
உங்களை விட்டுத் தவறிப்போன ஒன்றின் மீது நீங்கள் துக்கப்படாமல் இருக்கவும், அவன் உங்களுக்கு அளித்தவற்றின் மீது நீங்கள் (அதிகம்) மகிழாதிருக்கவும் (இதனை உங்களுக்கு அல்லாஹ் அறிவிக்கிறான்); கர்வமுடையவர்கள், தற்பெருமை உடையவர்கள் எவரையும் அல்லாஹ் நேசிப்பதில்லை.

say: flight shall not do you any good if you fly from death or slaughter, and in that case you will not be allowed to enjoy yourselves but a little.
"மரணத்தை விட்டோ அல்லது கொல்லப்படுவதை விட்டோ, நீங்கள் விரண்டு ஓடினீர்களாயின், அவ்வாறு விரண்டு ஓடுவது உங்களுக்கு யாதொரு பயனும் அளிக்காது - அது சமயம் வெகு சொற்பமேயன்றி (அதிக) சுகம் அனுபவிக்க மாட்டீர்கள்" என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக.

and he gives you of all that you ask him; and if you count allah's favors, you will not be able to number them; most surely man is very unjust, very ungrateful.
(இவையன்றி) நீங்கள் அவனிடம் கேட்ட யாவற்றிலிருந்தும் அவன் உங்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தான்; அல்லாஹ்வின் அருட்கொடைகளை நீங்கள் கணிப்பீர்களாயின் அவற்றை நீங்கள் எண்ணி முடியாது! நிச்சயமாக மனிதன் மிக்க அநியாயக்காரனாகவும், மிக்க நன்றி கெட்டவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்.

(இவையன்றி) நீங்கள் அவனிடம் கேட்ட யாவற்றிலிருந்தும் அவன் உங்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தான்; அல்லாஹ்வின் அருட்கொடைகளை நீங்கள் கணிப்பீர்களாயின் அவற்றை நீங்கள் எண்ணி முடியாது! நிச்சயமாக மனிதன் மிக்க அநியாயக்காரனாகவும், மிக்க நன்றி கெட்டவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்.

and (as for) those who disbelieve, some of them are the guardians of others; if you will not do it, there will be in the land persecution and great mischief.
நிராகரிப்பவர்களில் சிலருக்குச் சிலர் பாதுகாவலர்களாக இருக்கின்றனர். நீங்கள் இதைச் செய்யாவிட்டால் அதாவது ஒருவருக்கொருவர் பாதுகாவலராக இருக்காவிட்டால் பூமியில் குழப்பமும், பெருங்கலகமும் ஏற்பட்டு இருக்கும்.

"you may go about freely in the land, for four months, but know well that you will not be able to frustrate allah, and that allah will bring disgrace upon those who deny the truth."
நீங்கள் நான்கு மாதங்கள் (வரையில்) இப் பூமியில் சுற்றித் திரியுங்கள்; நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வைத் தோற்கடிக்க முடியாதவர்கள் என்பதையும், நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் காஃபிர்களை இழிவு படுத்துவான் என்பதையும் நீங்கள் (உறுதியாக) அறிந்து கொள்ளுங்கள்.

"so if you turn away, still i have conveyed the message with which i was sent to you. my lord will make another people succeed you, and you will not harm him in the least. surely, my lord is guardian over all things."
"நீங்கள் (இவ்வுபதேசத்தைப்) புறக்கணிப்பீர்களாயின் எனற்காக நான் உங்களிடம் அனுப்பப் பட்டேனோ அதனை நிச்சயமாக நான் உங்களிடம் சேர்ப்பித்துவிட்டேன்; இன்னும் என்னுடைய இறைவன் நீங்கள் அல்லாத (வேறு) ஒரு சமூகத்தை உங்களுக்கு பதிலாக வைத்துவிடுவான்; அவனுக்கு எப் பொருளையும் கொண்டு நீங்கள் அவனுக்கு யாதொரு தீங்கும் செய்ய முடியாது. நிச்சயமாக என் இறைவன் யாவற்றையும் பாதுகாப்பவனாக இருக்கின்றான்" (என்றும் கூறினார்).

for, if you do not do so, then know that you are at war with god and his messenger. but if you repent, you may retain your capital. do not wrong [others] and you will not be wronged.
இவ்வாறு நீங்கள் செய்யவில்லையென்றால் அல்லாஹ்விடமிருந்தும், அவனுடைய தூதரிடமிருந்தும் போர் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டு விட்டது (என்பதை அறிந்து கொள்ளுங்கள்)- நீங்கள் தவ்பா செய்து (இப்பாவத்திலிருந்தும் ) மீண்டுவிட்டால், உங்கள் பொருள்களின் அசல் - முதல் - உங்களுக்குண்டு (கடன்பட்டோருக்கு) நீங்கள் அநியாயம் செய்யாதீர்கள் நீங்களும் அநியாயம் செய்யப்பட மாட்டீர்கள்.
