osservazioni : è senza dubbio la russula che meglio si riconosce, per il suo colore rosso-arancio o giallo-arancio (qualche volta la possiamo trovare anche completamente gialla), per il filo delle lamelle giallo, per la sfumatura gialla sul gambo e per la fragilità della sua carne nel fungo maturo. tuttavia quando si presenta priva dei suoi colori e tonalità tipici, come rosso o porpora e le lamelle ocra, è facile confonderla con russula laeta, che però ha il cappello rosso, arancio o porpora, l’odore fruttato e il sapore delle lamelle un po’ astringente, la sporata più scura e la pileipellis con dermatocistidi; russula rubroalba, che però ha il cappello di colore rosso ciliegia, le lamelle giallo tuorlo, la reazione lenta alla tintura di guaiaco e la presenza di dermatocistidi; russula pseudointegra, che però ha il cappello rosso vermiglio, ma può anche decolorare fino all’avorio crema, le lamelle gialle, l’odore di pelargonio, la reazione nulla alla tintura di guaiaco.
