သူ၏မျက်နှာသည် လျှပ်စစ်ကဲ့သို့ထင်၏။ အဝတ်သည်လည်း မိုဃ်းပွင့်ကဲ့သို့ ဖြူ၏။

iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
သံကို သံဖြင့်ထက်စေသကဲ့သို့၊ လူသည်အဆွေ ခင်ပွန်း၏ မျက်နှာကို ထက်စေတတ်၏။

for the righteous lord loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright.
တရားသဖြင့် ပြုတော်မူသောထာဝရဘုရား သည် တရားသောအမှုကို နှစ်သက်၍ သဘောဖြောင့် သောသူကို မျက်နှာပြုတော်မူ၏။

the north wind driveth away rain: so doth an angry countenance a backbiting tongue.
မြောက်လေသည် မိုဃ်းရေကို ဆောင်တတ် သကဲ့သို့၊ ကုန်းတိုက်သောလျှာသည် ဒေါသမျက်နှာကို ဆောင်တတ်၏။

and the lord said unto cain, why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?
ထာဝရဘုရားကလည်း သင်သည် အဘယ်ကြောင့် စိတ်ဆိုးသနည်း။ အဘယ်ကြောင့် မျက်နှာပျက် သနည်း။

and he settled his countenance stedfastly, until he was ashamed: and the man of god wept.
စေ့စေ့ကြည့်ရှု၍ ဟာဇေလသည် မျက်နှာပျက် လေ၏။ ဘုရားသခင်၏ လူသည်လည်း မျက်ရည်ကျ၏။

sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better.

အသက်ကြီးသူကို မရိုသေ၊ အသက်ငယ်သူကို မသနားတတ်သော လူမျိုးကို၊ ဝေးသောအရပ်၊ မြေကြီး စွန်းမှ ထာဝရဘုရားသည် ခေါ်၍ သင့်ကို တိုက်စေတော် မူမည်။

his legs are as pillars of marble, set upon sockets of fine gold: his countenance is as lebanon, excellent as the cedars.
ခြေထောက်တော်တို့သည် ရွှေစင်ဘိနပ်ပေါ်၌ တည်သော ကျောက်ဖြူတိုင်နှင့်တူကြ၏။ မျက်နှာတော် သည် လေဗနုန်တောင်ကဲ့သို့ဖြစ်၍၊ အာရဇ်ပင်ကဲ့သို့ ထူးမြတ်ပေ၏။

all the inhabitants of the isles shall be astonished at thee, and their kings shall be sore afraid, they shall be troubled in their countenance.

and said unto them, i see your father's countenance, that it is not toward me as before; but the god of my father hath been with me.

why art thou cast down, o my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in god: for i shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.
အိုငါ့ဝိညာဉ်၊ သင်သည်အဘယ်ကြောင့် ညှိုးငယ် သနည်း။ ငါ့အထဲမှာအဘယ်ကြောင့် မငြိမ်းမဝပ်ရှိသ နည်း။ ဘုရားသခင်ကို မြော်လင့်လျက်နေလော့။ ငါ့ကို ကယ်တင်တော်မူသောအရှင်၊ ငါကိုးကွယ်သော ဘုရား သခင်၏ ကျေးဇူးတော်ကို ငါချီးမွမ်းထောမနာပြုရလေအံ့ သတည်း။

the shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as sodom, they hide it not. woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves.
သူတို့မျက်နှာအနေအထားသည် သူတို့တဘက်၌ သက်သေခံ၏။ မိမိဒုစရိုက်ကိုမဝှက်၊ သောဒုံမြို့သားကဲ့သို့ ထင်ရှားစွာ ပြုကြ၏။ သူတို့ဝိညာဉ်၌ အမင်္ဂလာရှိ၏။ အကြောင်းမူကား၊ မကောင်းကျိုးကို မိမိတို့၌ ဆပ်ပေး ကြပြီ။

for they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.
