meteors fell in the daytime .
दिन को उल्का पात हुए ।

and we stretched towards heaven , but we found it filled with terrible guards and meteors .
और ये कि हमने आसमान को टटोला तो उसको भी बहुत क़वी निगेहबानों और शोलो से भरा हुआ पाया

and : we had sought the heaven but had found it filled with strong warders and meteors .
" और यह कि हमने आकाश को टटोला तो उसे सख़्त पहरेदारों और उल्काओं से भरा हुआ पाया

meteors are evanescent : they last so briefly that it is often very hard to tell if one has actually appeared .
उल्काएं क्षणभंगुर होते हैंः वे इतने कम समय के लिए रहते हैं कि अक्सर यह बता पाना ही बहुत मुश्किल होता है कि एक वास्तव में दिखाई भी दिया है ।

and we sought to reach the heaven ; then we found it filled with a strong guard and darting meteors .

रात - दर - रात गतिशीलता की यह अदभुत लीला देखते - देखते , इस शान्त , सनातन पृथ्वी ने कितना भयंकर रूद्र गतिवेग अपनी स्निग्ध सनातनता की आड़ में प्रच्छन्न कर रखा है , अपु का इस तथ्य का आभास होता जाता हैउसके मन में एक आश्चर्यजनक बोध जागृत होता है ।

और ये कि पहले हम वहाँ बहुत से मक़ामात में सुनने के लिए बैठा करते थे मगर अब कोई सुनना चाहे तो अपने लिए शोले तैयार पाएगा
