रात - दर - रात गतिशीलता की यह अदभुत लीला देखते - देखते , इस शान्त , सनातन पृथ्वी ने कितना भयंकर रूद्र गतिवेग अपनी स्निग्ध सनातनता की आड़ में प्रच्छन्न कर रखा है , अपु का इस तथ्य का आभास होता जाता हैउसके मन में एक आश्चर्यजनक बोध जागृत होता है ।

और ये कि पहले हम वहाँ बहुत से मक़ामात में सुनने के लिए बैठा करते थे मगर अब कोई सुनना चाहे तो अपने लिए शोले तैयार पाएगा
