ինչպէս գրուած էր Տիրոջ Օրէնքում. «Ամէն արու զաւակ, որ արգանդ է բացում, Տիրոջ համար սուրբ պիտի կոչուի»:

Բայց նախ նա պէտք է շատ չարչարուի եւ մերժուի այս սերնդից:

Իսկ արդ, մարդը ոչխարից որքա՜ն եւս առաւել է. ապա ուրեմն, պէտք է շաբաթ օրը բարիք գործել»:

Աբրահամն այդ վայրի անունը դրեց «Տէրը տեսաւ», եւ մինչեւ այսօր էլ ասում են՝ «Այդ լերան վրայ երեւաց Տէրը»:

Յիսուս նրան պատասխանեց եւ ասաց. «Գրուած է. «Միայն հացով չէ, որ կ՚ապրի մարդ, այլ՝ Աստծու ամէն խօսքով»:

and as soon as it was day, the elders of the people and the chief priests and the scribes came together, and led him into their council, saying,
Եւ երբ լոյսը բացուեց, հաւաքուեց ժողովրդի ծերակոյտը՝ քահանայապետներ եւ օրէնսգէտներ, եւ Յիսուսին քաշեցին բերին իրենց ատեանի առաջ եւ ասացին. «Եթէ դու ես Քրիստոսը, ասա՛ մեզ»:

and there shall be an hole in the top of it, in the midst thereof: it shall have a binding of woven work round about the hole of it, as it were the hole of an habergeon, that it be not rent.
Դրա վերին մասը շուրջանակի կլոր կտրելով՝ բացուածք կը թողնես: Միացման տեղերը ամբողջական՝ մէկ կտոր թող լինեն, որպէսզի այդ զգեստը չպատռուի:

likewise also as it was in the days of lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
Ուտում էին, խմում, կին էին առնում եւ մարդու էին գնում, մինչեւ այն օրը, երբ Նոյը տապան մտաւ, եւ ջրհեղեղը եկաւ ու բոլորին կորստեան մատնեց:

but abram said unto sarai, behold, thy maid is in thy hand; do to her as it pleaseth thee. and when sarai dealt hardly with her, she fled from her face.
Աբրամն ասաց Սարային. «Քո աղախինն ահա քո ձեռքում է, վարուի՛ր նրա հետ այնպէս, ինչպէս հաճոյ է քեզ»: Սարան չարչարեց նրան, եւ աղախինը փախաւ նրա մօտից:
