እኔም ራሴ የናዝሬቱን የኢየሱስን ስም የሚቃወም እጅግ ነገር አደርግ ዘንድ እንዲገባኝ ይመስለኝ ነበር።
i verily thought with myself, that i ought to do many things contrary to the name of jesus of nazareth.

ደግሞም። ማንን ትፈልጋላችሁ? ብሎ ጠየቃቸው። እነርሱም። የናዝሬቱን ኢየሱስን አሉት።
then asked he them again, whom seek ye? and they said, jesus of nazareth.

ፊልጶስ ናትናኤልን አግኝቶ። ሙሴ በሕግ ነቢያትም ስለ እርሱ የጻፉትን የዮሴፍን ልጅ የናዝሬቱን ኢየሱስን አግኝተነዋል አለው።
and nathanael said unto him, can there any good thing come out of nazareth? philip saith unto him, come and see.

የናዝሬቱን ኢየሱስን ብለው መለሱለት። ኢየሱስ። እኔ ነኝ አላቸው። አሳልፎ የሰጠውም ይሁዳ ደግሞ ከእነርሱ ጋር ቆሞ ነበር።
they answered him, jesus of nazareth. jesus saith unto them, i am he. and judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them.

እግዚአብሔር የናዝሬቱን ኢየሱስን በመንፈስ ቅዱስ በኃይልም ቀባው፥ እርሱም መልካም እያደረገ ለዲያብሎስም የተገዙትን ሁሉ እየፈወሰ ዞረ፥ እግዚአብሔር ከእርሱ ጋር ነበረና፤
how god anointed jesus of nazareth with the holy ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for god was with him.

እርሱ ግን። አትደንግጡ፤ የተሰቀለውን የናዝሬቱን ኢየሱስን ትፈልጋላችሁ፤ ተነሥቶአል፥ በዚህ የለም፤ እነሆ እርሱን ያኖሩበት ስፍራ።
and he saith unto them, be not affrighted: ye seek jesus of nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.
