he said : i saw ( jibreel ) what they did not see , so i took a handful ( of the dust ) from the footsteps of the messenger , then i threw it in the casting ; thus did my soul commend to me
ያላዩትን ነገር አየሁ ፡ ፡ ከመልክተኛው ( ከፈረሱ ኮቴ ) ዱካም ጭብጥ አፈርን ዘገንኩ ፡ ፡ ( በቅርጹ ላይ ) ጣልኳትም ፡ ፡ እንደዚሁም ነፍሴ ሸለመችልኝ » አለ ፡ ፡

and when they entered upon joseph , he took his brother to himself ; he said , " indeed , i am your brother , so do not despair over what they used to do [ to me ] . "
በዩሱፍ ላይ በገቡ ጊዜም ወንድሙን ወደርሱ አስጠጋው ፡ ፡ « እነሆ እኔ ወንድምህ ነኝ ፡ ፡ ይሠሩት በነበሩትም ሁሉ አትቆላጭ » አለው ፡ ፡

and he took a muster of the birds ; and he said : " why is it i see not the hoopoe ? or is he among the absentees ?
በራሪዎቹንም ተመለከተ ፤ አለም « ሁድሁድን ለምን አላየውም ! በእውነቱ ከራቁት ነበርን ፡ ፡

he replied : " i saw what they saw not : so i took a handful ( of dust ) from the footprint of the messenger , and threw it ( into the calf ) : thus did my soul suggest to me . "
ያላዩትን ነገር አየሁ ፡ ፡ ከመልክተኛው ( ከፈረሱ ኮቴ ) ዱካም ጭብጥ አፈርን ዘገንኩ ፡ ፡ ( በቅርጹ ላይ ) ጣልኳትም ፡ ፡ እንደዚሁም ነፍሴ ሸለመችልኝ » አለ ፡ ፡

the eldest said : ' do you not know that your father took a pledge from you in the name of allah , and that you failed before regarding joseph ? i shall never stir from this land until my father gives me leave or allah makes known to me his judgement : he is the best of judges .
ከርሱም ተስፋን በቆረጡ ጊዜ የሚመካከሩ ሆነው ገለል አሉ ፡ ፡ ታላቃቸው አለ « አባታቸሁ በናንተ ላይ ከአላህ የሆነን መታመኛ ኪዳን በእርግጥ የያዘባችሁ መሆኑን ከዚህም በፊት በዩሱፍ ላይ ግፍ የሠራችሁትን አታውቁምን ስለዚህ አባቴ ለእኔ እስከሚፈቅድልኝ ወይም አላህ ለኔ እስከሚፈርድልኝ ድረስ የምስርን ምድር አልለይም ፡ ፡ እርሱም ከፈራጆች ሁሉ በላጭ ነው ፡ ፡

( samiri ) said : " i saw what they saw not , so i took a handful ( of dust ) from the hoof print of the messenger [ jibrael 's ( gabriel ) horse ] and threw it [ into the fire in which were put the ornaments of the fir 'aun 's ( pharaoh ) people , or into the calf ] . thus my inner-self suggested to me . "
