and many a city , mightier in strength than the city which drave thee forth , we destroyed them , and there was no helper of theirs .
আর জনপদগুলোর কতটা যে -- যা ছিল আরো বেশি শক ্ তিশালী তোমার জনবসতির চাইতে যেটি তোমাকে বহিস ্ কার করেছে -- আমরা তাদের ধ ্ বংস করে দিয়েছিলাম , আর তাদের জন ্ য কোনো সাহায ্ যকারী ছিল না ।

and he had property . then he said unto his fellow while he spake with him : i am more than thou in substance and am mightier in respect of retinue .
আর ফলটি ছিল তার । তাই সে তার সঙ ্ গীকে বললে এবং যে তার সঙ ্ গে কথাবার ্ তা বলছিল -- ''আমি ধনসম্পদে তোমার চাইতে প্রাচুর্যময় এবং জনবলেও শক্তিশালী।’’

আর ফলটি ছিল তার । তাই সে তার সঙ ্ গীকে বললে এবং যে তার সঙ ্ গে কথাবার ্ তা বলছিল -- ''আমি ধনসম্পদে তোমার চাইতে প্রাচুর্যময় এবং জনবলেও শক্তিশালী।’’

are my kinsmen mightier with you than allah that you ( hold the kinsmen in awe while ) you cast allah behind your back ? surely my lord encompasses all what you do .
তিনি বললেন -- ''হে আমার সম্প্রদায়! আমার পরিজনবর্গ কি তোমাদের কাছে আল্লাহ্‌র চেয়েও বেশী শ্রদ্ধেয়? আর তোমরা তাঁকে গ্রহণ করেছ তোমাদের পৃষ্ঠদেশের পশ্চাদভাগে ফেলা বস্তুর মত। নিঃসন্দেহ তোমরা যা কর আমার প্রভু তা ঘেরাও করে আছেন।

have they not travelled in the land to see the fate of those who went before them ? they were more numerous and mightier and left greater traces of their power on the earth ; yet all that they accomplished was of no avail to them .
ওরা কি তবে পৃথিবীতে পরিভ ্ রমণ করে নি , তাহলে ওরা দেখতে পেতো কেমন হয়েছিল তাদের পরিণাম যারা ওদের পূর ্ ববর ্ তী ছিল ? তারা ওদের চেয়ে অধিকসংখ ্ যক ছিল আর শক ্ তিতে প ্ রবলতর ও দুনিয়াতে কীর ্ তিস ্ থাপনে ছিল পারদর ্ শী । কিন ্ ত তারা যা অর ্ জন করে চলেছিল তা তাদের কোনো কাজে আসে নি ।

those who believe , and have emigrated , and have struggled in the way of god with their possessions and their selves are mightier in rank with god ; and those -- they are the triumphant ;
যারা ঈমান এনেছে , দেশ ত ্ যাগ করেছে এবং আল ্ লাহর রাহে নিজেদের জান ও মাল দিয়ে জেহাদ করেছে , তাদের বড় মর ্ যাদা রয়েছে আল ্ লাহর কাছে আর তারাই সফলকাম ।

and he had fruit , so he said to his companion while he was conversing with him , " i am greater than you in wealth and mightier in [ numbers of ] men . "
আর ফলটি ছিল তার । তাই সে তার সঙ ্ গীকে বললে এবং যে তার সঙ ্ গে কথাবার ্ তা বলছিল -- ''আমি ধনসম্পদে তোমার চাইতে প্রাচুর্যময় এবং জনবলেও শক্তিশালী।’’
