fake news can also cause people to behave badly, which is a deviant act. since fake news is often produced to suit the interests of one party, it can easily set off other parties by causing rumours to proliferate, which in turn influences deviant behaviour inadvertently among people. propaganda, misinformation, and fake news have the potential to polarize public opinion, promote violent extremism and hate speech, and, ultimately, undermine democracies and reduce trust in democratic processes (council of europe, nd). as mentioned before, fake news is done intentionally by humans who, for sure, have the goal to achieve and are willing to take the risk of attempting bad things that are against decency. they this will put humanity in a worrying state. for instance, partisan actors want to influence voters and policymakers for political gain or to influence public discourse by intentionally spreading misinformation about election fraud (desai & oehrli, 2023). this activity could lead to negative things being done by the influenced individuals who are infatuated with politics. these bad things could include revolt, bribery, and, in the worst-case scenario, violent acts among themselves. in fact, there are a few ways to stop this behaviour from getting worse and perhaps even from destroying humanity altogether, and one of them is controlling the amount of fake news that spreads on social media. after all, news that is not confirmed to be true or fake can actually trigger the bad behaviour of humans, and this issue must be taken seriously
