Аҳли шаҳр шодикунон омаданд.

so their gods, whom they called upon beside allah, availed them not in aught, when there came the decree of thy lord, and they added unto them naught but perdition.
Ва чун амри Парвардигори ту фаро расид, худоёне, ки ба ҷои Худои якто мепарастиданд, ҳеҷ даркорашон наёмаданд ва ҷуз зиёнкорӣ чизе бар онон наяфзуданд.

and there came the apologists from among dwellers of the desert men praying that leave may be given them and those who had lied unto allah and his apostle sat at home.
Гурӯҳе аз арабҳои бодиянишин омаданд ва узр оварданд, то онҳоро рухсат диҳанд, ки ба ҷанг нараванд ва онҳое, ки ба Худову паёмбараш дурӯғ гуфта буданд, дар хона нишастанд.

and they were not availed at all by their gods which they invoked other than allah when there came the command of your lord. and they did not increase them in other than ruin.
Ва чун амри Парвардигори ту фаро расид, худоёне, ки ба ҷои Худои якто мепарастиданд, ҳеҷ даркорашон наёмаданд ва ҷуз зиёнкорӣ чизе бар онон наяфзуданд.

so their aliha (gods), other than allah, whom they invoked, profited them naught when there came the command of your lord, nor did they add aught (to their lot) but destruction.
Ва чун амри Парвардигори ту фаро расид, худоёне, ки ба ҷои Худои якто мепарастиданд, ҳеҷ даркорашон наёмаданд ва ҷуз зиёнкорӣ чизе бар онон наяфзуданд.

they will say, "yes, but you afflicted yourselves and awaited [misfortune for us] and doubted, and wishful thinking deluded you until there came the command of allah. and the deceiver deceived you concerning allah.
Мегӯянд: «Бале, аммо шумо худатонро дар бало афкандед ва ба интизор нишастед ва дар шак будед ва орзуҳо шуморо бифирефт, то он гоҳ ки фармони Худо даррасид ва шайтон ба Худо фиребатон кард.

then why did those whom they had taken for aliha (gods) besides allah, as a way of approach (to allah) not help them? nay, but they vanished completely from them (when there came the torment).
Пас чаро он худоёне, ки ғайри Оллоҳ барои наздикӣ ба худоӣ гирифта буданд, ёрияшон накарданд, балки аз назарашон гум шуданд?
