la codabianca è una piccola rondine che raggiunge con difficoltà i 13 cm di lunghezza, i 12 g di peso ed un’apertura alare di circa 30 cm.
the white- swallow is a small swallow hardly reaching the 13 cm of length, the 12 g of weight and a wingspan of about 30 cm.

non vi sono informazioni dettagliate ed esaustive sulla nidificazione di questa piccola rondine ma da alcune rilevazioni si è potuto notare che depone 3-4 uova di colore bianco macchiettato di bruno e che la cova dura similarmente come quella dei comuni irundinidi, una quindicina di giorni.
there are no detailed and exhaustive information about the nidification of this small swallow but from some observations it has been noted that it lays 3-4 white brown-spotted eggs and that the hatching lasts, like that of the common hirundids, about fifteen days.

non era risultato facile scoprire dove nidificasse questa piccola rondine e si presupponeva inizialmente che potesse collocare il nido unicamente nelle fessure e nei buchi che si formano all’interno degli altissimi e numerosissimi termitai presenti nell’area.
it had not been easy to discover where this small swallow nidified and initially it was thought that it might place the nest only in the fissures and the holes forming inside the very high and numerous termite mounds present in the area.

un nido si stacca dalla gronda di una casa e cade a terra. tutti i rondinini muoiono tranne uno, forse una femmina. sarà allevata e chiamata celeste, come il colore del cielo dove è destinata a volare. a poco a poco tra la piccola rondine e la famiglia che l alleva si instaurerà uno speciale rapporto di amore, che raggiungerà momenti di grande intensità e commozione.
