and we granted them clear signs in affairs (of religion): it was only after knowledge had been granted to them that they fell into schisms, through insolent envy among themselves.

and we gave them clear arguments in the affair, but they did not differ until after knowledge had come to them out of envy among themselves; surely your -lord will judge between them on the day of resurrection concerning that wherein they differed.

na wala hawakukhitalifiana ila wale walio pewa kitabu hicho baada ya kuwafikia hoja zilizo wazi, kwa sababu ya uhasidi baina yao. ndipo mwenyezi mungu kwa idhini yake akawaongoa walio amini kwendea haki katika mambo waliyo khitalifiana.
(all) people are a single nation; so allah raised prophets as bearers of good news and as warners, and he revealed with them the book with truth, that it might judge between people in that in which they differed; and none but the very people who were given it differed about it after clear arguments had come to them, revolting among themselves; so allah has guided by his will those who believe to the truth about which they differed and allah guides whom he pleases to the right path.

na pamoja nao akateremsha kitabu kwa haki, ili kihukumu baina ya watu katika yale walio khitalifiana. na wala hawakukhitalifiana ila wale walio pewa kitabu hicho baada ya kuwafikia hoja zilizo wazi, kwa sababu ya uhasidi baina yao.
mankind was one single nation, and allah sent messengers with glad tidings and warnings; and with them he sent the book in truth, to judge between people in matters wherein they differed; but the people of the book, after the clear signs came to them, did not differ among themselves, except through selfish contumacy.

fain would many of the people of the book turn you back infidels after ye have believed, out of envy from their, after the truth hath become manifest unto them so pardon them, and pass over, until allah sendeth his command.
