« ምርመራየንም ምን እንደኾነ ባላወቅኩ ፡ ፡

he will say , “ if only i had forwarded for my life . ”
« ዋ እኔ ! ምነው በሕይወቴ ( መልካምን ሥራ ) ባስቀደምኩ ኖሮ » ይላል ፡ ፡

" and that i had never known , how my account is ?
« ምርመራየንም ምን እንደኾነ ባላወቅኩ ፡ ፡

he saith : contend not in my presence , when i had already proffered unto you the warning .
( አላህ ) « ወደእናንተ ዛቻን በእርግጥ ያስቀደምኩ ስኾን እኔ ዘንድ አትጨቃጨቁ » ይላቸዋል ፡ ፡

he will say , ‘ do not wrangle in my presence , for i had already warned you in advance .
( አላህ ) « ወደእናንተ ዛቻን በእርግጥ ያስቀደምኩ ስኾን እኔ ዘንድ አትጨቃጨቁ » ይላቸዋል ፡ ፡

oh , would that i had never chosen such a one for my companion --
« ዋ ጥፋቴ ! እገሌን ወዳጅ ባልያዝኩ ኖሮ እመኛለሁ ፡ ፡

" and that i had never realised how my account ( stood ) !
« ምርመራየንም ምን እንደኾነ ባላወቅኩ ፡ ፡

he shall say , ' o would that i had forwarded for my life ! '
« ዋ እኔ ! ምነው በሕይወቴ ( መልካምን ሥራ ) ባስቀደምኩ ኖሮ » ይላል ፡ ፡

allah will say : " dispute not in front of me , i had already , in advance , sent you the threat .
( አላህ ) « ወደእናንተ ዛቻን በእርግጥ ያስቀደምኩ ስኾን እኔ ዘንድ አትጨቃጨቁ » ይላቸዋል ፡ ፡

[ allah ] will say , " do not dispute before me , while i had already presented to you the warning .
( አላህ ) « ወደእናንተ ዛቻን በእርግጥ ያስቀደምኩ ስኾን እኔ ዘንድ አትጨቃጨቁ » ይላቸዋል ፡ ፡

a speaker of them saith : lo ! i had a comrade
ከእነርሱ የሆነ ተናጋሪ ይላል « እኔ ጓደኛ ነበረኝ ፡ ፡

but he who is given his record in his left hand will say , " if only i had never been given my record
መጽሐፉንም በግራው የተሰጠማ « ዋ ጥፋቴ ! ምነው መጽሐፌን ባልተሰጠሁ » ይላል ፡ ፡

he will say : " alas the woe ! would that i had sent ahead something in my life . "
« ዋ እኔ ! ምነው በሕይወቴ ( መልካምን ሥራ ) ባስቀደምኩ ኖሮ » ይላል ፡ ፡

but as for him who is given his book in his left hand , he shall say , ' would that i had not been given my book
መጽሐፉንም በግራው የተሰጠማ « ዋ ጥፋቴ ! ምነው መጽሐፌን ባልተሰጠሁ » ይላል ፡ ፡

a speaker from among them shall say : surely i had a comrade of mine ,
ከእነርሱ የሆነ ተናጋሪ ይላል « እኔ ጓደኛ ነበረኝ ፡ ፡

( tell them ) : “ i had no knowledge of the high council when they were disputing .
( በአደም ነገር ) « በሚከራከሩ ጊዜ በላይኛው ሰራዊት ለእኔ ምንም ዕውቀት አልነበረኝም ፡ ፡

" ah ! woe is me ! would that i had never taken such a one for a friend !
« ዋ ጥፋቴ ! እገሌን ወዳጅ ባልያዝኩ ኖሮ እመኛለሁ ፡ ፡
