유 덕 한 여 자 는 존 영 을 얻 고 근 면 한 남 자 는 재 물 을 얻 느 니

그 러 므 로 피 차 권 면 하 고 피 차 덕 을 세 우 기 를 너 희 가 하 는 것 같 이 하

그 의 신 기 한 능 력 으 로 생 명 과 경 건 에 속 한 모 든 것 을 우 리 에 게 주 셨 으 니 이 는 자 기 의 영 광 과 덕 으 로 써 우 리 를 부 르 신 자 를 앎 으 로 말 미 암 음 이

오 직 너 희 는 택 하 신 족 속 이 요 왕 같 은 제 사 장 들 이 요 거 룩 한 나 라 요 그 의 소 유 된 백 성 이 니 이 는 너 희 를 어 두 운 데 서 불 러 내 어 그 의 기 이 한 빛 에 들 어 가 게 하 신 자 의 아 름 다 운 덕 을 선 전 하 게 하 려 하 심 이
but ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

이 때 까 지 우 리 가 우 리 를 너 희 에 게 변 명 하 는 줄 로 생 각 하 는 구 나 우 리 가 그 리 스 도 안 에 서 하 나 님 앞 에 말 하 노 라 사 랑 하 는 자 들 아 ! 이 모 든 것 은 너 희 의 덕 을 세 우 기 위 함 이 니
again, think ye that we excuse ourselves unto you? we speak before god in christ: but we do all things, dearly beloved, for your edifying.
